Newt Turns Fire on Cain (ugh!)
FoxNews ^ | 11/11/11 | ALEXANDER BURNS

Newt Gingrich said Friday that Herman Cain should not have joked about Anita Hill potentially endorsing him for president, arguing in a radio interview that harassment is “not something to be joked about.”

Newts right.no reason for Cain to fire up the fembots and send them on a rampage. Next time Newt needs to keep his advice to himself and let Cain find out the hard way.

I don’t agree with Newt. These people are out there lying and slandering him. Cain can make fun of his attackers or do whatever the heck he wants as far as I care - just to deal with it.

However misguided Newt is on this issue I think he felt he had to say what he did because he himself is extremely vulnerable to the women’s votes.

There is a funny commercial for a candidate running in southwest Virginia which uses that line about evil twin. It is a funny ad. The guy being accused of havign an evil twin is a nasty lying politician and he has issued counter ads slamming the ‘appropriate’ portrayal of him. Folks stop whatever they’re doing to listen to the over dramatized exchange about Pucket’s evil twin doing all the things Pucket said he would not do in order to get elected initially.

I don’t think so... The allegations against Cain and his (and his campaigns) handling of it has sucked the oxygen out of the news cycles for two weeks. That’s a fact. Cain said it was the “End of the story! days ago and that he/we “are getting back on message”. How’s that working out for him? If its working well then why do we have this thread? What are we all talking about? What’s the media talking about? Anita Hill and the Cain allegations. Why? Because of Cain’s flippant comments.

Perhaps the comment was funny... but not wise...

Sooner or later this hurts the whole party. It also takes the attention off of Obama and his various messes.

I’m starting to think that Newt should upgrade his Loveseat Photo with Pelosi to a full-sized Sofa Photo with Pelosi and Anita Hill.

He jumped it here...not good. The party was prepared to accept his (semi) apology for getting on that Loveseat with Pelosi 4 years ago (or whenever), but now having Anita Hill join him, JUST TODAY, is going to be very, very, hard to stomach.

I think that he just earned himself a ticket on the down-coaster, to join Bachman and Perry.

Well, if Newt is pandering to politico to be PC, he screwed up. He should have said “I have no opinion at all on that, maybe Anita Hill does support him for all I know”.

about the time Noot sat on the couch with pelosi, he endorsed kerry’s global warming book. kerry was just giddy over it. Mr. Noot is going to screw up a nice lil’ VP gig if he doesn’t watch it.

“I give Cain an A+ for recognizing who the Hill being referred to was in an instant and providing an appropriate, in context response.”

I’m with you...and who the hell knows if it was even a joke. Maybe Cain really thought that Hill might have endorsed him? The people claiming it to be a joke (and especially off-color joke, no pun intended) seem to be REALLY SAYING what we’ve always said, which is that Anita Hill is simply a POLITICAL OPERATIVE...otherwise, how could they be so sure that they know what she really thinks.

No, he didn’t. He could have simply said no comment, and there would not be an article, nor a thread about it. It’s really not that hard to do, and it WILL NOT hurt a candidate to do that in many cases.

Mr. Noot reacted to Herman’s statement about Hill just exactly like the liberals did.............

“How’s that working out for him? “

Quite good, especially considering what he’s been put through. He’s still leading in the key states (other than NH, of course) and is at least tied nationally. Also, it’s looking like this so-called ‘scandal’ has now run his course, so expect to see Cain pick up more strength.

Sorry.

I’m considering Newt. Cain will definitely not get my vote. If I can’t find someone to vote for, I’ll sit out the primaries.

Perfect answer...but too humble for the know-it-all.

Maybe he's going for the black vote or the female vote or looking to garner Sharon Bialek’s vote.

Herman's response to a supporter saying “Anita Hill called you and...” Herman answering spontaneously.....”what, does she want to endorse me”.

How is that offensive????

I was thinking that too. People make fun of Cain, but I think he has a long memory, or at least long enough to remember Newt’s comment tonight. Newt might have just blown any chance of again being a political player.

Maybe... Maybe not... Give it another week or so and will see... indicators out today suggest that the Cain Train might be heading in the wrong direction...

One of many examples why Newt should not be the GOP nominee.

I'm sorry, Anita was a first class liar, came from the same cloth as these women claiming "harassment" against Cain, and Newt simply can never be trusted. He always....always.....always implodes at the wrong time.

He's got a great mind, i love him in the debates, but he will eventually hand his opposition a way to take him down, offer them his hand in friendship over all things liberal, or both at the same time.
