Porn Star Reads to Elementary School Kids, Parents Outraged KTLA News November 11, 2011
COMPTON, Calif. (KTLA) -- Parents at an elementary school in Compton are expressing outrage that a former porn star was invited to read to their children.
Earlier this month, recently-retired porn star Sasha Grey was a guest reader at Emerson Elementary School for their Read Across America Day.
Grey spoke about the event on Twitter, saying: "Spent the am with Read Across America Compton, reading to the sweetest 1st & 3rd grade students @ Emerson Elementary!"

Well there you go. Toward the end of the article it is suggested that she was invited due to her PETA and OWS interests. Don’t you feel better now. It’s all about feelings don’t you know.

Maybe this is part of the new curriculum like in NYC where they think 11 year olds are perfectly capable of making sexual decisions like fisting, beastiality, abortion etc.

What’s the hub-bub? As long as she wasn’t introduced as a porno star, who cares? At least she has a job!

Did those 1st and second graders know what a pron star was, did they ask for autographs for their collections. “To error is human, To forgive is divine”

Reading, really!
I would think they would be more useful for high level math (i.e., involving measuring stuff).

I honestly wouldn’t find it offensive as long as:
1. Students were not told her professional name.
2. They were not told what she did/does for a living.
3. The event was not in any way a publicity stunt.
4. The reading was not regarding anything of a sexual nature.
Frankly, to be an actress on HBO and an “activist” for PETA and Occupy Wall Street is more offensive than her past as a porn actress. Parents are offended but they are probably offended at the wrong thing.

As with any strenuous physical profession, the body can take just so much abuse. This leads to short careers. The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, as they say.

Yes, that is bad. It would be entirely appropriate for high school students.
