The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office says a man found dead in a tent at the Occupy New Orleans camp in Duncan Plaza across from City Hall was homeless and died of complications from prolonged alcohol use.
While others in the campground knew him only by nicknames like "Old School" and "Curley," coroner's investigator John Gagliano identified the man as Ronald Howell, a 53-year-old homeless man from Kansas. A town in Kansas had not yet been determined.
Detectives suspect Howell's body may have been in the tent for two days before it was discovered Tuesday.
Dying at one of the camps is becoming the norm, akin to classic rock radio playing a Stones song.
Pretty sad way....dead for two days in a tent before anyone checks and calls the authorities. A guy deserves better than that.
That's "Liberal Compassion" for you.
When SOMEONE claims the body, where’s the Ambulance-Chaser to sue OWS for Negligence in providing proper security, providing adeqate organized-protest supervision, etc.?
Must watch “Occupy” video:

What's interesting about the Occupy (wherever) crowd is this: They'll count the local homeless and transients among their own to bolster their numbers. However, once something like this occurs, he wasn't part of their group.
Go figure.
Occupy New Orleans? Where’s a hurricane when you need one? OK, that was a little cynical, even for me.
But it makes me think that in the case of a hurricane, these slobs would happily accept a ride out on a military helicopter produced by evil capitalists.
This story is the epitome of a liberal utopia. This is the kind of society they want for all America. In fact, they're demanding it.
