Politico reported Thursday that Attorney General Eric Holder sent a “private letter” to the family of murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, apologizing for his death. But friends of the Terry family have told The Daily Caller that no such letter has made it to the Terry home.
“Eric Holder has told the grieving family of slain U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry that he is ‘sorry for the loss of your son’ and offered to meet with them,” reporter Tim Mak wrote.
Holder’s letter, Mak wrote, praised the fallen Border Patrol Agent: “Brian was a hero who served his nation bravely and made the ultimate sacrifice. I agree with you that the tactic of allowing guns to ‘walk,’ as was permitted in Operation Fast and Furious, is completely unacceptable.”
The Holder letter may exist, but Politico hasn’t published it. And friends of the Terry family told The Daily Caller on Thursday that they haven’t received it.
Either Holder never sent his “private letter,” or the Justice Department leaked it to Politico before the Terry family received it.
“He never sent a letter,” Lana Domino, a Terry family friend, told TheDC on Thursday.
“I talk to them daily,” Domino added. “They never received an apology. They never received a letter.”

That’s because it isn’t an apology, its a C-Y-A letter. If it was an apology, he would have sent it at the time. What a scumbag.

If he even wrote a letter, what good does it do now??? He’s waited all this time and has lied repeatedly about this whole thing for months.

This nothing more than damage control. If it were truly private, we would know nothing of it. Unless, of course, the bereaved family chose to disclose it.
Or, just maybe, Politico isn't a reliable news source.
Holder doesn't care about the Terry family--they aren't "his people."
One of the things I dislike about English is the overlap between "sorry" used for sympathy and apology which is used by the guilty to their advantage. "Sorry for you loss" is an expression of sympathy with no implication of apology. Public apologies should use the word "apologize" or some acceptance of guilt rather than just saying "sorry that happened".
Not that this isn’t an important story (it is), but just as a heads up, a poster got zotted yesterday for pimping Daily Caller in News instead of Bloggers. I mean, he’s gone. Dead.

The Dept. of “Just-us” has no honor, as evidenced by the actions of Holder as the “asbestos-in-chief” in “Fast and Furious”.
The motto of the “Just-us” department should be on their official seal:

Still waiting on the final draft of his murderous rampage apology at Waco.
An apology recieved one year after it was due is still a “spit in your face”.
I hope there is a criminal and civil lawsuit.
