The great media toaster isnt broken, exactly, but it doesnt work like it once did. By all accounts, Herman Cain should be toast now, served hot, a bit scorched around the edges and left unbuttered. But try as they might, his tormentors have not yet had him for breakfast.
The tormentors, journalists, lawyers and an assortment of ladies who appear to have been around the block a few times, have so far failed to destroy him and thus his candidacy. They still have to come up with lower-mileage ladies to make the accusations stick with the Republican base.
Mr. Cains remarkableand unexpectedresilience has upset Democrats trying to find hope for change in their 2012 prospects in a reading of Tuesdays off-year elections and referendums. The easily persuaded are even finding a little. Politico, the Capitol Hill tabloid that sometimes channels a Democratic party organ, concludes that the Democrats are not dead yet. But nothing has changed for President Obama. For many Democratic candidates who will be sharing the ticket with Barack Obama in 2012, quoth Politico, the president is not going to be an asset. And in some states, its clear he is going to be a dead weight.

Why not?
95% accuracy isn’t 100% certainty?
“They still have to come up with lower-mileage ladies”
Now that’s funny!
I think you’re right about this. I see and sense tremendous fortitude in this guy.
Bump!
The media loses big by backing OWS and fomenting the lynching of Herman Cain.
Both big backfires.
The 2010 elections proved the liberal media have lost the ability to persuade. Having sold us on Barack Obama, the people will not buy what they’re selling.
Just by coincidence, I had recently watched that movie when the allegations against Cain were breaking. Amazing how much the behavior of today's Democrat party & the Media mirror the theme of that film.
Absolutely!
Not to mention it making Axelrod and the ‘rats look absolutely racist as all hell which would jut obliterate their black voter base.
When I saw the headline I thought of the former practice of banks giving free toasters to people who opened new accounts...and wondered if Cain had not made a large enough deposit to qualify for a toaster, or if they just ran out.
Hiring a junk yard dog for a lawyer is good move...keeps the liars and gossip mongers on guard as to what they accuse him of...Once Palin hired her lawyer, quite a few people and publications has to back peddle quick..and the slams stopped.
