US President Barack Obama will spend Veterans Day Friday watching a college basketball game on the USS Carl Vinson -- the aircraft carrier from which Osama bin Laden was buried at sea.
Obama, a keen basketball player himself, will be among some 7,000 spectators watching the game during a stop in San Diego en route to Hawaii, where he will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
He and the other spectators, most of them active-duty military personnel, will see Michigan State University take on North Carolina on a court set up on the deck of the giant warship.
Tom Izzo, coach of Michigan State, said he was undaunted by the unusual basketball challenges his players might face -- including a chance of rain.
"I think it's going to be a memory-making experience in a lot of ways," Izzo said.

He would’ve played golf on the flight deck, but the Navy couldn’t guarantee that the green would stay perfectly horizontal.
So this means only 54 weeks of basketball season are left.
The good thing about this is the security costs are reduced.
Isn’t Michelle accompanying him? She can shop and dine on the carrier, can’t she?
I’d take this jerk in a foul shooting contest any time.
In high school, I made 23 out of 25...a school record.

I thought I read that the Mooch was going. They must have her hidden given the dissaproval of her zillion dollar trips. She will have to appear in Australia if she’s there. I can’t believe she would stay home.
