Another Severed Foot Washes Ashore in British Columbia, Unlike Other 12

Another severed foot was found washed ashore in Canada over the weekend, bringing the total of mysterious feet found since 2007 to 13, the U.K. Daily Mail reports.
A group of young campers discovered a size 12 men's hiking boot on British Columbia's Sasamat Lake.
What separates this foot from the other 12 found in the British Columbia and Washington state was that it was found in fresh water, not salt water -- and it was found in a hiking boot, not a running shoe.
Police said they do not suspect foul play and believe that the feet detached naturally in the water.

I'm still having a hard time believing that there is no foul play. That makes 13 feet for crying out loud!
Well, it does seem that two feet were traced to a woman who jumped to her death, but that still leaves 11 others.

I guess this sinks the theory that a one-legged party cruise capsized with the revelers eaten by sharks.

Police said they do not suspect foul play... They are just toeing the party line.
What separates this foot ... it was found in fresh water, not salt
An impediment for sure! Gotta take your suspicions and show horn in the evidence.

Police were immediately dispatched to the local IHOP.

Just don’t use the cheap ankle glue.

Could be my old drill sergeant who was always threatening to break off his boot in someone’s arse.

I imagine that the ME’s office can determine if a foot was cut (via use of a knife or saw) vs. if it detaches normally after being submerged in water for a period of time. That being said... how all these people died in the water (or were placed there later) still remains the mystery. IMHO.

There is either foul play involved here or Dr. Scholls has run amuck.

So no one has come forward complaining of being a foot shorter than before?

Drowning victims. The feet detach when the body decays. The shoes float and thereby carry the feet with them to wash ashore.
Either that or it's the Sasquatch/UFO foot-cult.

Naturally occuring dead people floating in the water. Canadian healthcare results of natural cure attempts for those with terminal illnesses - swimming until you heal or experience the netherworld.
Just a foot. Move along here.

I used to go to a deli for drumsticks, and I'd always tell the puzzled counter guy "Give me three...I'll leave him one to hop on".
I was a funny guy in those days.......sigh.

This story has always sounded like foul play. How many people die offshore each year? Suicide? Just odd.

I've also heard reports of people relieving themselves over the side of the boat and falling in.

What is the baseline? Canada is a big place. How often do body parts wash up on beaches? Are these showing up in a relatively concentrated area? Or is this a normal frequency and distribution?
Naturally, one’s first reaction to such a report is that we’re in the early stages of a zombie outbreak and that the government is hushing it up to avoid panic. Everyone knows that zombies lack the manual dexterity to untie shoelaces, which is why it’s feet that are being found. While that’s the simplest explanation, however, we should rule out other possibilities before nuking Canada
