So how did demonstrators react to the city’s request? They did what any sane and logical group would do: they elected a Border Collie-mix named Shelby as their leader.

We should call PETA. This may sound amusing to us, but dogs take the role of Pack Leader very seriously. It is highly stressful for them, because their job is to keep everyone safe. Pack Leaders have to be hyper-vigilant, because everyone in the pack depends on them.
It was a rotten thing for these low-life humans to make a dog responsible for feeding them, and for their safety.
