Okay everyone...approaching 2:00pm Eastern...ready for the "Big EAS Test"?
Holy cow, all my tv's blew up! That wasn't supposed to happen was it?
Nothing here in PA. I guess we’re expendable when ‘the big one’ hits.
They cannot successfully utter one sentence nationwide, much less control us.
Testing so that dictator Hussein 0bama can notify his subjects that he has decided to become Emperor Baraq I, emperor for life.
"Yes, it's all falling into place now. All that's left is to cancel Christmas and impose a tax on trees.. Bwahhhah, Bwahhhahhhah!!!!"
:-)
Yep, I’ve got that whole movie somewhere, very scary stuff, from the “duck and cover” era!
But, they got the message through loud and clear. Unlike today.
As most of the replies here show, this was a total messed up test.
“find out where it doesnt work and why.”
WHY do we need a national alert system?
“Fixing” this government-caused “problem” is going to cost us megabux!
As I posted above and on other threads, what “emergency” over the last 80 years would have been enhanced by a nationwide alert?
"And now it's time for the penguin on top of your television set to explode."
I’m in schizophrenic purple Pennsylvania. Had FBN on television (Verizon cable), Sirius on the radio. Nothing on television, a few seconds of dead air on the radio.
Yeah I think the damn boxes locked..its like this on every channel
Smart phone still dead. Land line glitchy. And carrier tech support is on the fritz.
East Central Missouri here
Listening to the radio.... &
NOTHING. *snicker*
It was hugh and series! Even my beeber was stuned.
” what emergency over the last 80 years would have been enhanced by a nationwide alert? “
‘Enhanced’, as in, “No situation is so bad that Government can’t make it worse”??
Same here in MS.
That just means that they will have to do it again, to “practice.” For National Security and all that crap.
OK, this is interesting. I watch TV via TIVO. I’m not positive, but I am not sure what happened but it appears that this alert shut my system down. I hit record after the fact (TIVO records a half hour at a time as long as you don’t change the channel if you hit record it will store that half hour to the hard drive). When I went back to look at what it had recorded it had to reboot which indicated the system had shut down.
When I rewatched there was nothing on there but Megyn telling us it would happen and then her saying “Well that was fun” and then going to a commercial.
All very strange, but clearly for some reason this didn’t play nice with TIVO which makes it a problem for at least some segment of the American public.
LOLOL!!!! It sounded like a poor voice recording from the 50’s and nobody could hear it very well. I had Rush Limbaugh on the radio and that is where I heard it. I am in central Fla. and just dumped my cable co. for Centurylink Prism tv. I got no warning on the tv and I was watching Fox national news.
