Which leaves Paterno without a leg to stand on. I agree. I lost my job as a result of firing an underling, but I still sleep at night. (in a new job for the last few years) so I have little patience for Paterno types who don’t say anything and allow bureaucracy to cover their butts. academic administrators are corrupt as well, not all - but too many.

Paterno is just the FALL GUY, in a desperate hope that if he leaves, this all just fades away.

REMEMBER SOMETHING FOLKS...

This is a University where THE GAY AGENDA RULES ALL.

The stated goal of the Univ Pres is to make Penn State “One of the most gay-friendly campuses in America.

In 2007, they FIRED the PSU Women’s Basketball coach for telling a parent that homosexuality would not be tolerated in her program. This despite being one of the most winningest coaches in the history of women’s basketball.

And people WONDER how this could have happened?

Seems to me there was some kind of MAD (”Mutually Assured Destruction”) arrangement between Sandusky and PSU.

I looked at photos of Spanier and Sandusky in casual PSU garb and it make me think ...

I thought JoPa’s contract went till 2109! He is/was Penn State. He had more power than anyone at the school. What Joe said was the law of the land. That is how it has been for decades. It was such in the late 70’s when I was there.

What Joe said was the law of the land.

But some here want us to believe that Joe had no power to keep Sandusky and his little boys out of the Joe's shower room.

Penn State should voluntarily suspend its football program for a few years.

The University of San Francisco eliminated its basketball program for 3 years in the 1980s following Quentin Dailey's sexual assault of a student. This while USF was still basking in its glory days.

Baylor University--when faced with its own scandal--merely sent uuber slimeball basketball coach Dave Bliss packing for a host of improprieties, including telling his players to lie to investigators in the murder of Patrick Dennehy by teammate.

Some schools do the right thing. Others don't.

Sad to say, but 10 yo boys these days are indoctrinated to think that homosexuality is a valid lifestyle choice. The kid may have been -- shall we say -- "confused" to begin with. Sandusky was cruising for such boys.

If you read the grand jury stuff etc, you will find he started on these little boys much earlier than age 10. Boys become "confused" when some adult causes it.

At this point I think that Paterno was being 'preserved' in the expectation that his prior good reputation would help the university get through this scandal. Paterno's 'reputation' would also further the prosecution of other university officials (Curley & Schultz). Events are now out-pacing that plan and Paterno is being cut loose, albeit after the season.

The difference in treatment between Portland on the one hand, and Sandusky and his enablers on the other is very interesting.

Perhaps your schools aren't playing according to the pro-homosexual playbook yet? Schools near me are. Schools in the Center County/State College, PA area definitely are.

I'll leave it there as I don't want to be accused of highjacking the thread.

With the possible exception of Corbett, I'm wondering if anyone presently sitting on that bloody board should retain his/her seat.

And while I can easily see why there would be an incentive for civil plaintiffs to take a monetary settlement, I hope at least one plaintiff has the inclination to take his suit to court. Discovery might perform a great service in terms of getting to the bottom of who knew what when, and what was done about it.

Considering Paterno put his hands in his pockets and looked the other way for at least 9 years...

Yeah, Paterno should have fired Sandusky on the spo... oh wait. Sandusky was already gone from the coaching staff for three years at that point. Nevermind. Okay, then.. Paterno should have done his job as a police investigator and district attorney and... oh wait. Paterno was never a police investigator or district attorney. Okay, then.. Paterno should have screamed to the rooftops that, based on a fuzzy report from an undergraduate assistant, former coach Jerry Sandusky is a gay pedophile rapist!

Is that what you would have done?

This is a University where THE GAY AGENDA RULES ALL.

With apologies to the good Conservative Christians in Pennsylvania, Penn State largely reflects the DemonRAT values of the Commonwealth. Pennsylvania has long been a stronghold for union thuggery and has a long legacy of entitlement, environmental and diversity programs. Those all go hand in hand with the commie homosexual agenda.

“The difference in treatment between Portland on the one hand, and Sandusky and his enablers on the other is very interesting.”

One forwards the AGENDA, while getting rid of an expensive contract in an unprofitable program.

The other brings in HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, is the leading brand of the University, and the source of tens of millions in yearly economic activity for the local community.

This isn’t rocket surgery, folks....

Yep. Second Mile was set up to ‘help’ disadvantaged kids. Usually those kids come from single-parent homes. They don’t know how real men act (usually no father in the house) and so Sandusky shows them the male attention they crave and they believe anything he tells them.

All 8 of the victims told the jury the exact same enticement story.
