HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Patriot-News of Harrisburg is calling for the immediate resignation of Penn State President Graham Spanier in a rare, full-page, front-page editorial amid the child sex-abuse case involving a former football coach.

Tuesday's editorial also calls for this to be legendary coach Joe Paterno's last season.

Both men are under close scrutiny for their responses to an alleged sexual encounter involving former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky and a young boy in a locker room shower.

"There are the obligations we all have to uphold the law. There are then the obligations we all have to do what is right," the board wrote.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review called for Spanier and Paterno to both resign in an editorial Tuesday.

Tell me, how oft do you see a full-page front-page editorial???

This shows the gravity of one of the worst sports scandals ever to rock the U.S.

Paterno first: he knew about this and did nothing - for years!

They must save their reputation.

If not, who will want to go to PSU (Pedophile State Univer.)

I understand that Penn State had Sandusky banned from using the campus facilities. Which implies that they didn’t really care how many boys he molested, as long as he didn’t do it there.

False rumor. Per the State College, PA newspaper -- the Centre Daily: Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky had access to the team's weight room as recently as last week, a person familiar with the situation said...
Source: Source: Sandusky was on PSU campus last week

The other info I've seen is someone referenced Wall Street Journal into that says Sandusky's Second Mile Foundation continued football camps on campus thru 2008...and I've seen a headline saying that Sandusky continued to use a Penn State satellite campus location for camps.

That's hardly a "ban." No go.

The PSU Board of Trustees had better act quickly. Every minute without SWEEPING changes means deeper and more permanent damage.

Dr. Thorne calls on all elected Pennsylvania officials to resign as well as the management and coaching staffs of the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The general manager and field manager of the Boston Red Sox, too (just for the hell of it). What's that? They're already gone? That's great!

What else could they do? After all, if Penn State is like other campuses, there are plenty of people working there who believe that homosexual pedophilia is good for children and should be decriminalized.

Banning this guy from using campus facilities to indulge his tastes was probably the most the university's administration thought it could do and still maintain peace on campus with various potential advocacy factions of the faculty and staff.

If they had fired him, there could well have been a demonstrations and lawsuits.

Yeah, I looked @ the State College online newspaper & saw a Penn State alumni from NC who said that despite what's going on, she'll wear her alma mater shirt "with pride."

I think somebody could make a fortune selling T-shirts for the Penn State crowd.

One design could be focused on the theme of "Pedo Pride"

Another one could be "NitKinsey Lionizers"

A third would be the Nittany Lyin's

Banning this guy from using campus facilities...

Read post #6...they hardly banned the guy if he was using their facilities last week and continued to run camps first on the main campus thru '08 and then on satellite campuses thereafter.

Tito Francona was one of the few Major League managers to publicly side with the homosexual agenda this past season.

And its the homosexual activists who have made it easier for pedophiles to "get along" in society and made it tougher for organizations, corporations, and institutions to get rid of them. After all, pedophilia, they claim, is a "sexual orientation" that shouldn't be discriminated against.

We can thank the homosexual activists, and fools like Francona, for furthering such a cause.

3 radio stations in the area report Urban Meyers has bought land in Boalsburg (4 miles outside of Penn State). Hmmmm?

Holy smoke. This guy is like that cockroach in WALL•E that lives in the cream filling of a Twinkie. He had it made in the shade, pedophile Heaven.

I checked the indictment and it appears that they didn't ban him the facilities, per se but only prohibited him from using the facilities with "young people." Here's what it says:

Curley testified that he informed Dr. Jack Raykovitz, Executive Director of the Second Mile of the conduct report to him and met with Sandusky to advise Sandusky that he was prohibited from bringing youth onto the Penn State campus from that point forward. Curley testified that he met again with the graduate assistant and advised him that Sandusky had been directed not to use Penn State's athletic facilities with young people and "the information" had been given to director of The Second Mile.

To my mind, the effect is pretty much the same. They didn't care how many boys he molested, as long as Penn State didn't have to be involved.

This is just the saddest thing, to think that monster was allowed to victimize more and more innocents due to the lack of action by the PSU staff. They should all go down with him. I hope there is an outstanding prosecutor who has the ability to bring everyone involved to justice.

When football is more important than little kids, you need to forfeit the right to play the game, this so called school will carry this forever. What a bunch of sick perverts, this is the fault of the alumni as much as it is the people running the place. Hope you enjoy the icky feeling you have.

Whatever doesn't envelope the "remain silent" crowd in the criminal sphere -- either as suspects or witnesses -- will overwhelm in the civil sphere...

...ongoing depositions in case after case
...interrogations as they are being deposed...

I hardly watch TV...and yet the little I hear while it's on is overwhelmed with lawyer/sue commercials. The sharks are swarming in Central PA!

JoPa won't "retire"...Why, he'll get another "job" as an ongoing deposed witness...along with all of the others who put "THE PROGRAM" before the safety, protection, and even eternal lives of these kids.

Matthew 18:6-7 applies to the whole bunch. Jesus says better a millstone for their necks -- coupled with a Davy Jones locker @ the bottom of the sea.
