Where are Obama’s buddies, the Teamsters, in all this mess? What did he promise them to keep them quiet on this?
At least the trucks are legal ... < /s>
Geez American Truckers, U Mad?
FMCSA announced that all Mexican trucks participating in this project will be given Electronic On-Board Recorders equipped with global positioning capabilities and paid for by the U.S. taxpayers. FMCSA also announced that U.S. trucks must install similar equipment at their own expense. ...
U.S. taxpayers are also being required to pick up the cost of replacing old mufflers on dozens of Mexican trucks at a cost of $1,600 each,...
No safety inspections, free GPS, free Muflers - why not free tires and diesel fuel too? < /s>
This is an OUTRAGE!!
Good point..no..GREAT point. As far as I am concerned, the governmental betrayal of American truck drivers, also known as American “workers” is the more important story here. But all we will get, even from the Teamsters Union will be the sound of crickets.
By the way, are the MEXICAN truck drivers required to know how to read ENGLISH? After all, traffic signs, both of regulatory and warning in this country are printed in what is really the language of the land....ENGLISH.
Wait until an American family is wiped out because the truck driver from our southern neighbor didn’t know what the sign “Dangerous Intersection” meant.
I heard that they have no brakes, also. And they are steered by the wind.
“...Not realy. They are exempt from emmission standards...”
If true, this is another damming fact to be used following the revolution when we “take care of” EPA officials.
And again, I volunteer...no, I beg...to operate the guillotine.
This article is pure BS. Only one Mexican company (Transportes Olympic) has been approved to bring its trucks into the US, tho’ others are planning to apply. So far, only one of its trucks has been approved. Trucks are approved individually after they have been inspected and shown to meet all US safety and environmental regulations.
Only one other company (Grupo Behr de Baja California) has applied, and they don’t have any trucks approved yet. There are some problems with the company’s safety record which are holding up the application.
More proof that Schlafly is losing it. A quick web search shows that Transportes Olympic has been operating in the U.S. for years.
Bush#1+Clinton+Bush#2+obama all love Mexico. Is it because they all hate America?
Transportes Olympic participated in the Bush pilot-program, I think. Which means it operated here (past the buffer zone) for up to two years. When Schlafly writes about the “first” Mexican truck, she’s simply throwing red meat to her base.
Don’t forget Ronald Reagan. It was his idea!
All this with a country with a narco-terrorist civil war raging within it’s borders.
Three cheers for national security.
The Mexican outfits can’t equip their trucks to meet our requirements? Too bad. They don’t enter the country.
Menwhile, in Minnesota and Iowa, Canadian trains, that is long, long trains, are on our tracks
Past the 20 mile limit inside the USA?
No matter what—this is a disaster for Americans.
Your insurance will go up for UNINSURED drivers/vehicles. Mine is already 37% of my vehicle premiums in rural N Nevada.
The lack of inspections will bring God knows what into the USA.
Whooping cough is already rampant in California. Other diseases we have basically stamped out are being brought back into the USA. Agricultural pests are also invading.
No inspections?
What a treasonous attitude!!!!!
