I hear what you’ve said, and I agree with you. I appreciate your insights as well. Good points to consider as there are seemingly so many people around here right now ready to jump to conclusions (no matter which *side* they are on, or who they support).
What’s interesting to me is Cain’s denial of knowing Bialek at his press conference yesterday juxtaposed against this story of her having words with him a month ago at this Tea Party event. At first, I thought “Uh, oh, how can this be?” But then I gave it a little thought based on what Jacobsen said in her Beck interview and what others have said (possibly on this thread).
Jacobsen said Bialek really wanted to meet Cain. She even claimed Bialek bulldozed her way to him, then had him in a close (arms around each other) conversation. I realized just because of what Bialek claimed about her prior association with Cain, this may well have been the first time Cain had ever met her. And with others here suggesting this was a set-up, this rings true.
Someone comes up to you at an event, makes an introduction and holds a close, brief, conversation with you. Do you know that person? I’d have no hesitation saying “No!” Nor would I acknowledge that meeting at my press conference because I’d be waiting of further background on her. Not acknowledging that meeting in no way refutes my statement of not knowing her. I don’t have to tell everything all at once. Not until I know all the facts.
This is interesting stuff. What I really hope is that Cain has hired someone to do background work on all these people. He acknowledged at the news conference that he expects more to come forth because he realizes it’s a planned operation. He needs to develop a defense strategy.
