Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich defended former Godfathers Pizza CEO Herman Cain on Monday, saying Americans might be more interested in finding a solutions-oriented leader than obsessing over another political scandal.
*snip*
And I just think theres this huge gap between the gossip that fascinates political reporters, and the average persons concern about the price of housing, the availability of jobs, solving the budget deficit without crushing the middle class, a lot of things that are, frankly, at a substance level are dramatically more important for most Americans.

Sex Sells...
Way to go Newt.
But the MSM and DNC and others are not interested in gossip at all.
They are creating gossip in a brazen effort to bring a good man down. They fear Herman Cain and what he represents...just like they fear Sarah Palin.
This is all they have to try and bring them down...to make these vile and filthy accusations from an absolutely unbelievable source who could not string two coherant sentences together about her accusations without reading from her script. A person who has had 9 jobs in 13 years, who has had two bankruptcies as quickly as she could and who now, just weeks ago had a court order to sieze her assets to pay off even more debt...
And low and behold, along comes her memory of Herman Cain just in time to score some cash and relieve her financial woes.
Sorry...people are seeing through it and we’re done with this sort of trsh.
They are focused on gossip (or worse) because they have no solutions and they know the people who still bother to pay attention to them know that they have no solutions. The media primarily represents a movement that is in decline and is struggling to hold onto power in any way possible.
We saw our 2012 GOP ticket standing together Saturday night in Texas at the Cain-Gingrich Debate. I am OVER the media dictating who our candidates will be. Every time they trash Cain, I counter by sending him another donation. Nothing huge - but it is the thought that counts.

I echo your sentiments!
Attacks like the one against Cain are why polls that show “Obama would lose to an unnamed Republican” are meaningless. Liberal democrats revel in the politics of personal destruction. It’s how they win elections. Take a moral man, show him doing something immoral and say “how can you vote for him, he’s a hypocrit preaching about morals but he’s not morally perfect”.
Thanks, Newt, for stepping up to the plate.
All the candidates should step out front and do the same as Newt on behalf of one of their own and ours. They should also stand together against appearing EVER again on Leftist/Marxist stages, studios and street corners. Period.
Together, if they could behave as Cain/Gingrich in Houston, Republicans would sweep in 2012 and there would be somewhere for each of them. Romney could be an embassador even. To the Arctic region.
I still wonder if Newt and Cain haven’t discussed sharing a ticket.
Also I would have expected some defense of Cain from the other candidates like Perry, Bachmann or Santorum. However Mittens was a no show during the Tea Party gatherings in 09-10 and so nothing expected from him.
Newt is kicking major butt lately.
SUPERB of Newt to do — and exactly what they SHOULD be doing — soldiering on and ignoring this crap. It’s TOTAl crap —
As metioned, these libs are 10 kinds of desperate because they know they’re DONE in 2012 — and possibly for a very, very long time. They aren’t going to go out peacefully ...this is only the beginning of the type of shenanigans we’re going to see.
Newt as been awesome lately!
Alright...I'll give him this one.
Nice one Newt.
Indeed! I’m not a fan of Cain (yet), but the silence from the other contenders disqualifies them from my affections.
While I disagree with Newt on this one, I approve of him following through and not “piling on” a fellow candidate.
Newt laid that foundation early in the debates and has consistently refused to engage in the DBM-driven Republican in-fighting.
