Raw milk supporters rally around 'criminal' moms
The Washington Times ^ | November 2, 2011 | Jessica Claire Haney

SILVER SPRING, Maryland, November 2, 2011 – They escaped arrest. The “raw milk freedom riders” who illegally transported raw milk from a farm in Pennsylvania to FDA headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland and then drank it and distributed it to a crowd rallied in support of their efforts got away with their crime.

As reported yesterday in this column, this group of raw milk activists planned the ride and rally to protest government restrictions on the sale of raw milk and the spending of taxpayer money to raid and bankrupt small family farms.

The rally began at noon as the swelling crowd gathered to hear speakers and await the arrival of the caravan, which, after celebrating its arrest-free arrival, gave out milk and cookies for all to enjoy.

In the crowd of 150 were raw milk supporters from Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Ohio and throughout the DC Metro area. Said Kimberly Hartke, publicist for the Weston A. Price Foundation:

“The rally was celebratory, as the moms, with joy, took back their power and acted out their food sovereignty as citizens of a free country.”

Organizer Karine Bouis-Towe of the Farm Food Freedom Coalition read a statement from the Obama administration that said:

“Barack Obama and Joe Biden recognize that local and regional food systems are better for our environment and will support family-scale producers. They will emphasize the need for Americans to buy fresh and local.”

You may have misunderstood, I’m saying that even though farmers care very much about producing clean and safe milk, it just isn’t physically possible to do so in all cases.

That’s why dismissing the steps taken to process the milk further after it leaves the farm is foolish at best, deadly at worst.

The mellon case, mellons produced in southern CO, caused the deaths of many people accross the country illustrates that clearly.

The investigation isn’t finished, but it looks like a simple thing of water on the floor of the on-farm processing plant was the cause.

People who regularly drink unprocessed milk are fools.

Not long ago I attended a 1898 Fourth of July Celebration, a living history day at a dairy farm that is now a park.

While there, organizers milked a cow then rushed the bucket of milk directly from the cow, to a hand crank ice cream freezer.

There were many children and some adults, who volunteered to crank the machine.

The ice cream was delicious, enjoyed by all.

Yes, so sad that with all the government regulations, health/sanitation inspectors of all aspects of food production, and so forth, we're living far longer now than our ancestors.

Yes, but people suffer terribly for all those years.

sarcasm off

Read up on vaccines for Lyme.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyme_disease#Vaccination

Your same kind of people - we’re ascared of vaccines!!!! - are why right now apparently people aren’t ALLOWED to have vaccination.

NOT because it’s not possible.

Damn near killed my dog,

Infect yourself with vaccines, if that is your wish.

I am not asacared of anything, and folks can do what they want.
Liberty and Freedom tell me that nothing should be mandated.

If wiki is your source, good luck with the truth.

You lack understanding of some very basic human biology, and in particular the immune system.

Germs are everywhere, not just in the milking sheds. They’re in your sock drawer, shower stall, and refrigerator.

If your body ecology is optimum, none of them can affect you.

Get educated:

Sorry Girl.

Thanks for your hard work,

but i call BS on what you are actually being published with and what info you are really being told.

That is what's wrong with this whole process, the politicians are being lobbied by interests who wish to control your flow of information.

*sigh*

All this kind of talk does is illustrate just how much you don't understand or know about the scientific process.

Politicians set public health policy based on what scientists just like myself recommend, informed by the latest peer-reviewed and vetted research. I could go on, but you seem dead-set against the whole idea of scientific research, so it's not worth the bother.

In any case, I will continue to distribute scientific information. It's my calling.

The vast majority of microbes have not evolved the ability to infect us, or even live on us. Only a few have that ability, and they are very good at it. It doesn't matter how healthy you are, if you come into contact with one of those pathogens and you don't have a pre-existing immunity to it, you WILL get sick.

Yep, destructive disinformation at your fingertips to help you propagandize the WWW.

I'm sure you will be pleased to know that your tax dollars paid for me to get a science PhD so that I could be a medical researcher, doing the original research and filling my head with the knowledge learned by others' original research so that I could come here and spread all of that misinformation revealed by our scientific experiments. For me to not share all of that scientific research claptrap after the generosity of the taxpayers in training me to do so would be unconscionable.

Sigh.
Read today’s front page article posted by Kaslin , written by John Stossel on Townhall.com
called the FDA kills.
This is not unusual.

My objection is that your “reesearch” is unscientifically subjective, and therefore in reality just high priced disinformation. I don’t particularly level this at you, but at all similar “researchers.”

There is a vast body of objective information that much more closely meshes with real world human physiology that is being selectively ignored because it calls into question the effectiveness of methods and products of vested “mainstream” practitioners and manufacturers.

Stossel’s usual objection to FDA is that they HAMPER getting good products to market for eeeevvviilll doctors to use for the stuuuupidd patients who trust them.

Not that many of us mind if you want to put your children at risk of smallpox, drink rotting milk or waste money on useless snake-oil products.

We just don’t want you proseletyzing to us that we’re evil and stupid for believing 100 years of scientific methods.

Whoopdedoo. I’ve had 3 dogs and 2 cats in the last 25 years who’ve had all shots. Not 1 lick of problem. Give me a break.

As for Wiki - no, it’s not perfect but it is a quickie place to look for info. AND you look at the sourced material from there.

Further, you completely dodged the original issue which brought in the Wiki - stating “strange there is no vaccine for humans but for dogs” - which apparently is UNTRUE.

Go ahead and do what you want. Infect yourself with every-day pathogens. People who avoid vaccines and drugs as a rule are paranoid, period.

As for freedom - that’s fine, again. However, sometimes there’ve been reasons for government to clamp down on certain things to protect the whole society. Hence tuberculosis quarantines, etc. You would be against that, but it had to be done. Period.

Yeah, you poo-poo Wiki and CDC even while you believe your precious sites:

Nope, no conflict of interest there!

Poo-poo is a good choice of words when speaking of Wiki and CDC!

Facts mean nothing to either of them.

Bottom line: you rely on vested-interest websites which sell products they tell you are essential for your “health”.

Bunch of hoo-hah.

And if you want better sites, I already mentioned: Quackwatch.com.

Try lymeatrix invented by the revered Dr. Allan Steele of Mass General Hospital, how many folks were maimed or killed by that little ditty?
He is still considered a leading “authority” of Lymes, yet he only treats patients with lyme in their knees?
What is it now? A knee spirochete?

Two films for you;
“Under Our Skin”
“under the Eightball” by Andalusian Films.

I do in fact do what I want, thank you very much.

My family is fully vaccinated so far but it hasn’t worked out so well for us.

You can call me whatever you wish, I have had my mind opened to not following the herd by trying to protect my family.

Really? Without having any idea of the kind of research that I do (other than what I say publically, "medical"), you know the quality of my research, and exactly how my research is "unscientifically subjective"? That's truly amazing.

As for the "vast body of objective information that much more closely meshes with real world human physiology", how was it derived? Valid information is derived through the exact same scientific method that I was taught to use; if the information was not derived using the scientific method, it is not valid. Good scientists do not ignore valid scientific results. We also do not latch onto an idea and refuse to let go of it if the evidence does not support it. Unfortunately, with a lot of those crackpot sites, that is exactly what happens.
