Woman accuses Cain of bold sexual advance [ 2 bankruptcies yes 2 ]

Leaving little to the imagination, a Chicago-area woman on Monday accused Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain of making a crude sexual advance more than a decade ago when she was seeking his help finding a job.

"Come clean," Sharon Bialek challenged Cain at a news conference in New York at which she described herself as "a face and a voice" to support other accusers who have so far remained anonymous.

Cain's campaign swiftly denied Bialek's account. "All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false," it said in a written statement.

Court records indicate Bialek had financial difficulties a decade ago when she filed for bankruptcy protection and reported $4,500 in unpaid rent and $13,000 in outstanding credit card bills.

Current property records show she owns a house on an acre of land in a Chicago suburb.

Well someone, more or less crudely, suggested she had a mouth that did more tricks than just lie. Is this made up out of thin air and speculation (for shame), or is someone filled in about her past (in which case maybe true, but this place is supposed to be family friendly, no?).

The Cain denial is interesting, All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Not denying the meeting, dinner, car ride, etc. The questions I would ask the woman are; were you drinking with Herman Cain? Was there any other physical contact, kissing, hugging, etc, before he put his hand on your leg and you told him no?

I want to believe Herman Cain did nothing, but what the woman describes sounds like he made an advance, she said no and that was that. I find it very hard to believe a man goes right under the skirt without some warm up. I found her comment that she told him no because she had a boyfriend telling. Not simply no, but no, I have a boyfriend. The sworn statements are not all that powerful either, despite what the press says. They say she told these two men that Herman Cain made an unwanted advance, but not what he did. Why not? Would you not want your boyfriend to defend your honor?

In my opinion this in one of two things, totally made up or Cain made an advance that was turned down. Neither are sexual harassment.

This accuser is obliged to get down to exact who, what, where, when, etc. and somewhere in there will be a fabrication he should be able to blow a hole through (probably a few holes at least).

Alan Piper disappeared from Bialek’s friend list shortly after the Allred press conference.

But maybe not in this case without justifiable reason after all... after all, this is supposed to be a family friendly forum or I’d get more specific. I just say reference her account of the alleged “harassing” encounter with Herman Cain. If she really has that kind of dirty mind....

The boy, Nick, is 13. Meaning this pregnancy happened in roughly the time period Bialek alleges this incident with Cain occurred. She also said in her presser today that she had a boyfriend at the time, a pediatrician, who produced one of the two affidavits that Allred was waving around, but not distributing. Mr. Deep Pockets, Naze West, is not a pediatrician. Ms. Bialek was apparently a very very busy woman.

The online docket is terribly convoluted, as it looks like the West/Bialek child-related battle went on for years. It appears, though I'm not certain, that both Mr. West and this woman filed suits to determine paternity at about the same time. You can't tell which one of them was disputing paternity from reading the docket.

He filed one to prove he was not the father, yet apparently turned out to be the father. We are to believe she turned Cain down while desperate for a job and yet about 18 months later slept with another executive.

The accuser is always the one obliged to get down to exact who, what, where, when, etc. and somewhere in there will be a fabrication he should be able to blow a hole through (probably a few holes at least).

Until this accuser does so, Cain can simply say the same thing: she's obligated to put up or shut up and in the meantime, until she does so, his reply to the media should be, "Don't waste my time and the American people's time with such filth and distraction."

I think Cain needs to come out and say these things instead of ignoring it or knee-jerk blaming the media.

Get used to it. This is the new conservatism, filled with hatred and emotional arguments. Not many here appear to be interested in facts or in maintaining any objectivity anymore.

Utter a criticism or any candidate who is the current chosen one and you are a "troll," or a "RINO" (which appears to be anyone with whom the person using the term disagrees, no matter how conservative they may be). Attempt to inject an objective observation or admit at least the possibility that someone like this woman maybe telling the truth and you will be vilified.

The only difference I see between a lot of the posts being made here and those I have read on DU and dKos is that obscenities are banned here and the attacks are coming from the right rather than the left. Same emotions, same arguments, only from a different angle.

Ronald Reagan must be spinning like a top to see so-called conservatives behaving in this manner.

If the charges are false, all Cain can do is say so and say he will not respond any further.

There is no way to “prove” any of this one way or the other, and it is long past time for us and our candidates to stop jumping just because the LSM says “jump.”

The Dems set the bar and were fine with a rapist/serial sexual assaulter in the White House. Do I want that in our candidate? No. But in the meantime, while we figure stuff out, they have lost any grounds whatsoever for trying to claim we have to prove anything.

I would say somebody who habitually "plays" the system.

I wouldn't be at all surpised if what really happened was - she basically said she would do anything for a "certain job" - and Herman knew she wasn't capable. He may have offered her a lesser paying position after a dinner-long sob story.

She wouldn't take it and went home. Then 12 or so years later when they are looking for somebody to come forward that actually worked for NRA she sees her chance at making some quick cash.....question is...who are "They"?

I found the wording the denial curious.

At least Cain didn’t say, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Bialek.”

Well, I knew there had to be an explanation.

I have been sexually harrassed. It was pretty explicit and terrifying and it was by my boss. I resigned without telling the owners why but immediately called the EEOC to file a complaint. I begged them not to pursue it- there were three charges they wanted to start an investigation of- but I begged them not to. When I was asked why I was filing a complaint, I told them I wanted it to be on record to help the next woman.

First off, she didn’t work for him so it wasn’t a workplace harrassment, certainly not sexual harrassment. This is from the government’s website.

“Although the law doesn’t prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted).

The harasser can be the victim’s supervisor, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or someone who is not an employee of the employer, such as a client or customer.”

I guess Gloria forgot to read that memo.

She states that her reaction was “You know I have a boyfriend!”

As if, hey, otherwise, this would be cool.

Then she states that she told her boyfriend at the time, but did NOT tell him “any details.”

So with zero evidence that at the time she was shocked, traumatized, or scandalized by what she alleges happened, now more than ten years later, she finds herself “outraged.”
