LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for less than two days before convicting Murray in Jackson’s 2009 death.
Jurors had 300 pieces of evidence to consider after listening to 49 witnesses and complex medical testimony during the six-week trial.
Prosecutors argued that Murray acted in a criminally negligent manner after giving Jackson a powerful dose of the anesthetic propofol as a sleep aid.
The defense, however, maintained that Jackson took a deadly dose of propofol when Murray left his bedroom hours before the singer’s death.
Murray, faces up to four years in prison when he’s sentenced on Nov. 29, but Judge Michael Pastor ordered him to be remanded immediately.
Pastor, who said Murray “poses a demonstrable risk to the safety of the public,” ordered him to be held without bond.
Murray will also lose his medical license as the result of his conviction

Per Wikipedia, propofol is administered intravenously, not orally. But apparently Murray set things up so that Jackson could give himself a shot of the stuff. This might as well be physician assisted suicide, because nobody was watching. I’ve heard of physicians personally catering to stars’ medical desires but this is ridiculous. I guess a few more Valium, which would have been far safer, was too boring for the star.
The doc chose to waste his time on a black tart trying to turn himself white. Too much medicine was wasted on Michael. Greed got the doc.

What I still can’t figure out is, Why, would the Dr., KILL his golden goose? Makes no sense to me. Being careless of the drugs and stepping out of room, allowing Jackson to take them himself, that makes sense and is manslaughter. I just don’t think he intentionally killed him. JMO
Propofol is a white liquid drug. Anyone who has had general anesthesia has had this drug. It’s the one the anesthesiologist injects while asking you to count back from 100. Last time I had it, I fought as hard as I could and I think I ended up counting back to 96???
Anesthesiologists call it milk of amnesia.
Going by the “Lindsay Lohan” sentencing guidelines that have apparently been adopted by the California courts, this guy should be out in a few weeks, tops.
