Hey. Thanks. Been reading for a while and decided to start posting a couple weeks ago. People can be pretty hostile when you don’t agree with them on a candidate. Probably the last time I’ll bother participating.

I'll give you a last benefit of the doubt. If you've been reading a while, you know that every now and then, trolls drop in to stir the pot. I can't cry foul because some here find it fun to drop in on DU and laugh as well.
The vast majority of Freepers are pretty smart. The wit is often complex and some of the lively discussions and disagreements are at least honest. Most who debate here are anxious to provide facts to back up assertions.
My advice to you would be to explain who you are hoping wins the GOP primary and why. If you can put together some legitimate creds for your backing a certain candidate, at least some will jump your right to have an opinion.
A blanket, disingenuous statement like you made oozes of the BS that makes a liberal troll obvious to most of us. There is a lot more logic expected than, I have a feeling.

Most of us try not to hide behind anonymity as an excuse to be mean or rude. Just find out who the respectful people are and avoid the rest.
Disagreeing is one thing, posting liberal crap talking points is another.

There are some but most will have a good clean open discussion with you if you can support your arguments with facts. When you cannot support your arguments with facts and only emotions, it gets real ugly real fast.

You can say whatever you like on Free Republic, just don't act like a wimp when people call you on it and demand you explain yourself.
It is known as "discourse". You make a claim, people invite you to present some structure to your claim, and you either comply or leave.
People requested you provide a basis to support the veracity of your assumption, and you just whine about how people are mean to you because they disagree with you.
Yeah, people around here get angry at unsubstantiated slander.
