If the allegations were just dumpster diving for a payoff, that would become obvious. There are women that if you look at them they scream harassment. Men can also have insults thrown at them by fellow employee's or employers, but they cannot yell harassment, they get a tougher hide and keep on truckun...
When my kids were young and come home complaining about what some jerk said, I told them the world is full of arse holes, learn to deal with it now, cause out in the world you will find more and have to work with some of them...Subjective remarks of what is harassment doesn't carry much weight with me...

The NRA of which Cain was CEO chose to settle the claims of SH for money. It doesn’t prove he did anything but it does make the electorate curious about the charges. That curiosity will not be satisfied with “I didn’t do anything, end of story.”
The difference is the number of accusers and that they have contemporaneous corroboration of their claims. Thomas had one accuser who followed him to another job. SH claims rely on proving a pattern of behavior. That is what Paula Jones’ lawsuit against Clinton was about and why we learned the names of more women over time.
This is a routine practice. It’s much cheaper than litigating, even if you’re completely innocent and the litigation is completely frivolous and bogus. The charges were investigated and found to have no substance.
It was a severance package, not a settlement. And one of the two filed another similar complaint three years later at her next job. A serial complainer. (Maybe she needed more money.)
Cain says he didn’t do anything and there has been no evidence produced to say that he did. End of story.
They say that, but they have produced nothing to support it. Why would anyone believe that such corroboration existed?

I had the honor of hearing Alan Keyes years ago when he spoke at my son's church/school. It was a small Evangelical church, not a big rich one and he spoke on the value of christian teaching.
In person he is very polite and charismatic. shook his hand and enjoyed his talk My son just wished he'd have spoken out on some politics but he was there to speak of christian education and didn't weave into any other direction....very interesting man.
