JoePa is going down for this.....while he did report it to the AD, he was in a position to do a lot more to prevent further incidents from happening......there is no way now he can possibly return next season.

Don't be a moron. Paterno immediately informed the proper authorities at Penn State after he was told by an assistant that he had witnessed inappropriate behavior by Sandusky in a locker room. That was in 2002, three years AFTER Sandusky had retired and was no longer involved in the football program. Paterno knew of nothing else regarding Sandusky's behavior except for that one allegation.

But don’t you think based on the seriousness of the charge, and the overwhelming presence Paterno has in the athletic department, that he should have done more? Didn’t he wonder why nothing was ever done after he told the AD?

Do you really think this scumbag got started raping boys only after retiring? Do you really believe that 2002 was the first time it came up? This scum is in his 60’s.

Even if JoePa never heard a whisper before 2002 he should have made sure justice was done after employing the scum for decades.

Paterno saying he told the AD about it is equivalent to a Catholic priest saying "I told the bishop about it" when he learned that a former employee was abusing kids on church property.

If it's not an alibi for the priest (and it shouldn't be), it's not an alibi for the football coach.

Still less is it an alibi for the dumb horse's behind who actually witnessed the abuse and didn't call the cops immediately.

The proper authorities are the police. No one else.

What about the 1998 investigation for which there is a written police report?

BS! I bet it was common knowledge.
