DAYTONA BEACH -- At the Florida Tea Party Convention Saturday, you could find buttons calling for Marco Rubio to be on the presidential ticket, t-shirts declaring that Barack Obama has made communism cool again, and freeze-dried foods to last up to 25 years in case society collapses.
Scarce among the hundreds of conservative activists gathered in Daytona Beach? Any enthusiasm for Mitt Romney, the man widely expected to win the Republican presidential nomination.
The party establishment has wanted Romney all along, and theyve been pushing him on us, lamented James Koll of Fort Dodge, Iowa, who said he would support a third-party or write-in a candidate before voting for Romney.
His brother, retiree Don Koll of The Villages in Central Florida, nodded in agreement.
Some of these Republicans think they have our votes in the bag no matter what, but they dont, he said, complaining that no top-tier Republican candidates came to the tea party convention. Theyre turning their back on us, and they will pay a price.
Its one of the most critical questions facing Republicans determined to oust Obama: Is the president polarizing enough to energize the Republican base?

If Mitt didn’t bewaffle so, the Tea Party might not bemoan him so.
Eff Mitt Romney
I don’t care. I’ve held my nose for Bush 1, Dole, Bush 2, and McCain(Only because of Palin). Let THEM hold their nose and vote for a conservative for once.
“Savage spent the whole section with this tortured logic showing how he was doing so well in the ratings while Limbaughs were stagnant, yet Limbaughs were much higher.”

Savage is at his best when he explains how Obumbo is a Marxist/Leninist, but other then that he has become a bore, hawking his books, and denigrating his competition.
I understand stations are starting to drop him.
I dont care. Ive held my nose for Bush 1, Dole, Bush 2, and McCain(Only because of Palin). Let THEM hold their nose and vote for a conservative for once.Exactly right!
If Romney gets the nomination, I will write in the candidate I wished had won. If anyone else gets the nomination, I will vote for that person.
Right now, it appears likely that the Republicans will take both houses of Congress. If that happens, we're more likely to get gridlock with Obama than with Romney. I don't want a compliant Congress going along with a RINO President.
When the conservative field is winnowed down, and consolidated behind one or two candidates, Romney will be fortunate to get 25% of the vote.
There are a lot of “not Romney” people out there.
GTMA...except yours is greater, and more detailed, than mine. ;o)
I totally agree with your post.
I sure hope so. There were a lot of “not McCain” people out there, too. Didn’t work out so well.
I agree completely!

BS
Does a flatline have a crest? Romney has been right around 25-30% the whole time. That's the "base" for the moderate candidate in the GOP. They will stick with Myth until the last dog dies.
Herman Cains position on TARP:On October 20, 2008, Herman Cain wrote, in an article in North Star Writers Groups Herman Cain column #133, that Wake up people! Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem.

...when he was showing his (Let's get) REAL feathers.
Beautiful plumage, the Herman Blue.
And ya, FUMR, too - along with the whole Log Cabin GeeOpie cesspool.
The problem that you apparently don't see is that Romney is just a “white” version of Obama. There is no difference between them.
Never listen to what Romney says, watch what he does and has done ... basically no different than what Obama has done.
If it is Romney VS. Obama ... you will know the country is over with and you might as well not vote for the one who let it happen. Go 3rd party for president.
Once Romneycare has been exposed as the genesis for Obamacare the Romulan will sink like a stone : )
Nope.
I know Romney better than most around here, as I'm in Massachusetts, and I would only vote for him if the choice were Romney or Obama.
Do I want Obama making more SCOTUS choices? Hell no.
Do I think Romney will be better than Obama when it comes to any number of issues? Yes, I do.
Now, will Romney make the choices *I* would make? Most probably, no...but he's infinitely better than Obama.
Not choosing between them will be choosing Obama, and I love the country too much to do that, or to make yet another pointless third-party vote that helps the democrats.
Sorry, ain't buying the 'not participating is the best choice' fantasy. I can see myself forgiving me for voting for Romney if he does a poor job. I could never forgive myself for not stopping Obama from getting a second term.
No way will I vote for Romney either. But I must say, I was totally unimpressed with Cain’s debate performance last night. I honestly don’t get what all the fuss is about. He didn’t give any direct, detailed answers and I don’t find him to be all that well spoken.
