Some of his peers privately said that they were astonished at how he was being portrayed. They said that his less than three-year tenure (rather brief in the Washington trade-association world) was rocky and that the restaurant folks couldn’t get rid of him soon enough—possibly because of sexual-harassment allegations.

Again, an anonymous source privately says something nasty about a former co-worker, and you think this is dispositive? Really? No wonder you think the Politico story was "adequately sourced." This is nothing more than rumor, and more to the point: IT DOES NOT SUPPORT THE CLAIM YOU MADE.

You've turned an unsourced, anonymous, off the record quote, accompanied by an editorial conjecture on the part of the journalist (or editorialist, it's hard to tell which) into a factual statement that the NRA wanted to be rid of Cain for sexual harassment.

Someone here is indeed "reckless and arrogant," and I'll let FReepers judge for themselves who that is based on the thinness of your actual facts and your shameless blog-pimping.

If you must call it pimp blogging, it doesn’t bother me. It’s a hobby project and a good way to keep everything organized and not force me to repeat myself constantly.

NJ has been a pretty good source, IMO. And I bet we’ll hear more about Cain’s departure from the NRA as the days drag on and the polls drop more.
