I think he’s already blown it. If Cain had answered truthfully when it first came out, instead of lying, “not recalling,” admitting piecemeal and then blaming everyone around him, this thing would never have gotten started.

The fact was there were two complaints against him, they were settled, he knew about this - because he had discussed it with his advisor in 2004 for his earlier run - and he should simply have acknowledged the settlements and apologized for any real or imagined impropriety and moved on to policy (except that he doesn’t have any).

Instead, he pulled a Clinton, attacking the messengers, attacking the victims, and then claiming (without proof) a conspiracy by his rivals against him.

And that’s what kept it going. Nobody would have wanted the details if he had been honest in the first place. And I think he has made the complainants mad; they obviously didn’t want to tell their stories, but sooner or later one of them will. Very possibly the offenses were not anything major, but now everybody’s curious. It won’t go away just because he wants it to.

>>> So he’s abandoning his campaign? Because that is the effective outcome if he doesn’t get ahead of this.

Is there a campaign to abandon? All I ever saw was a book tour. And a lot of well-intentioned people who moved his way when they couldn’t get Trump/Bachman/Palin past the finish line.

Exactly. I dont’ CARE how Cain deals with trumped up junk allegation. The media wants us to CARE how Cain deals with it. This means we should NOT. I DO CARE about how we are going to get through the almost impossible financial and foreign policy problems facing us over the next few years.

I don’t care how Cain “deals” with junk media allegations and I don’t care about the other candidates either.

For example, I could care less about Perry and this slogan on a rock thing. It doesn’t enter my mind. I don’t support Cain any more or any less because I think Perry might be some kind of closet racist. That’s what the media wants. I’m looking at the candidates stated core belief systems, what they have done in the past and what type of legislation and direction they may push for in the future.

ANYTHING the lamestream media considers important in automatically suspent all the time, we say that around here every day. Well, isn’t that also true several times over when talking about Republicans during an election cycle?

Really...

It was a nice fundraiser for him though.

Its not going to go away because the media’s job isn’t to cover for him like it covered for Obama.

Life isn’t fair. You simply have to accept it and move on.

As anyone who has followed your postings know you have never ever bothered to think when it came to Cain.

So spare us the fraudulent posturing pretending you have EVER thought about Cain.

Did someone answer you, mylife? I am trying to find a thread about the debate too to find out what people thought. I heard some of it but the topics were so boring that I kept leaving the room. :-)

Watch the liberal media go crazy. Yet they bowed to Obama when he cut them off and said “Let me eat my waffles.” The double standard and the way the libs coddle to the worst president in history, and the invaider in our White House just makes me want to puke!

attacking the victims,

Victims? What victims? Do you keep a picture of Gloria Allred next to your bed? Or is it Martin Bashir?

Yeah his handling of the sexual harrassment stuff has been botched. But the worst thing was the youtube of Cain barking at reporters “excuse me ... excuse me!”. He needs to hide that angry side of him which is just awful if he wants to get elected. If he can’t handle the press then he can’t handle the Presidency. So we’ll see if he has what it takes.

That was great. Cain's question to Newt at the end was priceless.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

The thread you sent doesn’t have the debate discussion that I think mylife and I are looking for. Thanks though.

“So he’s abandoning his campaign? Because that is the effective outcome if he doesn’t get ahead of this.”

OMG! LOL. You are kidding right?

This whole event blew up in the faces of the media and the campaign(s) behind it.

It’s over. Cain is taking it to the media now and giving them a dose of their own medicine.

I think most people understand his reaction. People are completely fed up with the punk behavior of reporters. Screaming the same questions over and over while refusing to listen to the answers is making the media look very very stupid

No. Most people expect Presidential candidates to keep their composure and they sure as heck won't tolerate an angry candidate. If Cain doesn't learn to keep his cool he won't be elected. We'll see if he grows and learns.

I’m reading Herman Cain’s book today and he has faced obstacles and underminings before yet he outlasts them. His strong faith in God is a big key to his life. I recommend all to read his book.

“I think he’s already blown it.”

Cain is one of the few candidates who has not blown it. Perry blew it weeks ago. Romney blew it years ago...

Cain will be fine. He answered everything truthfully as far as most people can tell and his donations and polling numbers prove that fact.
