Except Cain has never really been a “leader” in that sense either. He’s been a corporate manager, and a spokesperson, and a talk show host. And several other cool jobs that also didn’t involve leading.

If you think that being the CEO of a nationwide corporation has nothing to do with leadership, then you've just forfeited any credibility you might have had as a commenter on this thread.

Well, since you bring it up, what happened to Cain’s great business career and why did he have to end up as a minor talk show host?

He led that company from the 5th-largest pizza company to the 11th-largest pizza company.

But yes, it is a type of leadership, just not the type of leadership that was being discussed in this arena. The manager of a baseball team is a leader as well, but not the type that translates into being President.

Cain was appointed to that position, and he reported to the parent corporate management.

But you know, I’ll take your criticism. He’s certainly a better leader than I am, and yes, there are leadership qualities involved in what he did, and I apologize. I’m looking for presidential leadership, and don’t see it, but he does have leadership aspects. And he certainly has a lot of followers.
