A Minnesota congressman has proposed federal legislation that would impose his state's type of voter registration which leads the nation in voter fraud cases on the other 49 states, according to critics who have launched online campaigns to make people aware of the dangers of Rep. Keith Ellison's H.R. 3316 and its companion H.R. 3317.
"Our votes control trillions of public dollars, yet Ellison would have us believe nobody would ever steal them. We can trust everybody, right?" said a commentary posted on the Election Integrity Watch site.
"Would you keep your money in a bank that allowed people to make withdrawals without checking their identity and verifying that they are entitled to the money?" the site wondered.
In a commentary promoting his H.R. 3316, which would banish all photo identification requirements, and H.R. 3317, which would allow people to walk into a polling location, register and vote immediately, Ellison said his intent is to curb "voter suppression."
"The Same Day Registration Act would require states to provide for same day voter registration for a federal election. The Voter Access Protection Act would make sure election officials cannot require photo identification in order to cast a vote or register to vote," he said.
He said there are 34 state legislatures that have considered bills requiring photo ID to vote.
"These are solutions in search of a problem," he said. "Statistics show an infinitesimal number of proven voting fraud cases occurring in the United States. And these few cases have been successfully prosecuted like any other criminal offense."
However, an organization that monitors elections in Minnesota and roots out fraudulent votes is warning ballot fraud is on the rise across the nation, and if unchecked, the ultimate consequences would be an electorate that simply doesn't believe the system works

It’s dead on arrival and irrelevant.
Ellis is a Muslim. A useful idiot for C.A.R.E.
Ellis is a Muslim. A useful idiot for C.A.I.R.
Its telling in the sense that he knows he can’t get it past a growing number of individual states due to the increase in GOP held state governments.
Here in Michigan we elected a secretary of state who latched on to the voter fraud issue and hasn’t let go since.
Obviously the Dems are afraid that they will soon lose a sure fire way to cheat on elections.
Ellison, stick yor Muzzie finger in the purple ink, and STFU!
Non story; this bill goes NOWHERE!
Ellison’s ass needs to be thrown in jail. I understand his being afraid of voters having to identify themselves because it puts his worthless ass in jeopardy of losing his worthless job. Also, people having to indentify themselves scares the hell out of all Muzzies.
Quick show of hands, who think the system works???
This one comes into direct conflict with the constitution.

so they think as it is done in New Jersey, your signature is your id proof? A signature comparison voting day versus the one on file allowing a wide margin for variation... (I worked the polls for years, I rarely see a signature change)
I always show my ID when voting here in CA and they say, “You don’t have to show that” to which I reply, “I know but I want to”. California stinks.
minnesota must be one stupid place.
i know a retired minnesotan farmer woman and she’s left of castro.
Yes it does. However, he is a Muslim and a Democrat so the US Constitution doesn't matter.
No, not stupid, EVIL... The Democrats got into power 38 years ago, and one of the first things they passed was same day voter registration and removed the requirements for voter ID.
The republicans finally got the majority in 2010, but lost the governors race by less than 5000 votes. Easily a number of “extra” votes that get added for same day voter registration.
Plenty of stories of people vouching for students the same day..
Minnesota is also the leader in the nation for voter fraud convictions.
And our Secretary of State Richie is an Acorn plant. That’s why Dayton is Governor and Al Franken as a US Senator.
I was showing mine here in Michigan before it was required too.
