His Highness David Brooks slams Herman Cain: "Running for office is a job for professionals."
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/05/2011 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 11/05/2011 11:54:01 AM PDT by martosko

On Friday’s broadcast of NPR’s “All Things Considered,” host Robert Siegel asked New York Times columnist David Brooks if the surfacing of sexual allegations from the late 1990s reported by Politico last week was “the beginning of the end” for businessman Herman Cain’s presidential run.

“There was no beginning,” Brooks said. “He was a TV show that lasted for a little while. Let me stand up for elitist insiders — this is a job for professionals. Running for office is a job for professionals. Governing is a job for professionals. What Herman Cain did this — let’s leave aside the harassment, his handling of this was completely unprofessional. Every amateur candidate knows how to do a better job than this.”

He's right! I looked it up, and read Article 2 Section 1, with these special Franklin glasses (as featured in the movie "National Treasure"). The glasses allow you to see hidden text, that only the SCOTUS, and MSM commentators could see, before the glasses became more widely available.

Article 2, Section 1 states:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. Nor shall any Person, who is not a Professional politician, as certified by professional commentators, or as evidenced by having attended an Ivy League institution of higher learning; be eligible to either run for the office of President, nor to serve as President."

The parts you need the glasses to read are in bold.

“What Herman Cain did this — let’s leave aside the harassment, his handling of this was completely unprofessional. Every amateur candidate knows how to do a better job than this.”

If any of you listened to Rush yesterday, he covered this issue. The MSM and Republican elite say that Cain’s handling of the harassment charges was “unprofessional” because he didn’t do what most professional politicians would do in the same situation: Instead of rushing to initiate a cover up and attempt to stonewall any investigation, Cain simply did what he does in any other instance—he told the truth as best he could with the limited information he had (because he was not a signatory of the agreement).

Mr. Brooks, you and the rest of your “elite friends” are a joke. We are done with you.

The only real difference between pros and amateurs is that pros win, and amateurs lose.

Ever since the Civil War ended, military commentators have criticized Ulysses Grant's generalship, missing only one little thing--he won all his battles and, ultimately, the war. In spite of the nit-pickers, Cain keeps on winning, just like Grant. Indeed, he's withstood, and overcome, more vile, utterly determined, and groundless abuse than nay othe pubbie candidate this year. That makes him the best MAN to beat the Illegal.

Two words: Ron Johnson.

The founders did not intend that there would be a professional political class. Johnson, (and Cain for that matter) fits the mold of what the founders intended - successful, knowledgeable men and women who bring their talents to Washington to serve, not to stay and preen and fawn over their own superiority.

You need to add Lincoln. Funny thing, there’s a real similarity between Lincoln and Cain:

-Lincoln, before running for president, rose mostly in the private sector, becoming a highly successful railroad lawyer who ran unsuccessfully for the Senate.

-Cain, before running for president, rose mostly in the private sector, becoming a highly successful businessman in the restaurant business, a very competitive business, and also ran unsuccessfully for the Senate.

Looks like Cain has an excellent set of credentials for turning the country around.

“How’d his wife’s salary double to over $300 grand for a position so important, they didn’t replace her when she left?”

Simple—it was a bribe. Right after being elected to the U.S. Senate the Illegal did his part by getting a $1,200,000 earmark for her employer.

Yes, I agree. That’s why I’m supporting that great professional politician, Jon Corzine, for President. Only the best for me!

Let me stand up for elitist insiders — this is a job for professionals.

Professional Politicians is precicely why we are in the crapper. Give me an honest human being anyday.

Once Sarah Palin hit the scene, talking like a FReeper, it woke me up to realize that the PP class have been pissing on my leg and telling me it is raining so long that I nodded off. Now when a person can't say something with meaning in 1000 words or less my PP detector goes off.

Pretty much narrows it down to Sarah and Cain so far. Mittins is an obvious Progressive PP Plant, and Mr Texas is the RNC PP Plant, leaving Newt the Old School PP.

We need Americans running America, PP just piss me off.

We’ve got to get Corzine into the primaries NOW - before he’s forced to do the perp walk and meet his soul mate in Sing Sing.

Excuse me, HRH David Brooks. But, didn't excessive faith in “professional politicians” get us into the mess, financial and social, that we find ourselves in?

Oh, I see - we must throw more faith at the "professional politicians" because we failed to give them enough the first time around.

I see it clearly now.

Hay Bub, where's the nearest gun store again - already have my Bible and pitch fork.

Is he a Republican? Ah, nevermind. He is obviously a crony capitaiist, so he could belong to either party.

In case you missed it, here is SP's loud musing on the skills of the elites:

Why should we trust the elite with more responsibility? I know that we are told that they're the smartest boys in the room, and they are pedigreed with the most expensive educations. Makes me wonder, though: If these people are so doggone smart, why are we so doggone broke.
