Santorum is the sleeper candidate. I believe he may be the nominee.

Why is he still running? Doesent the increase in overhead expense to campaign more than overwhelm the increase in speaking fees he will generate down the road ? Has he done the math?

You guys can rip into me if you'd like, but there are certain cases in which abortion could be acceptable. If the child will be severely mentally retarded that they will not be able to live a decent life, then it would be more humane than allowing the child to live a miserable life. Another example is if the mother's life is in danger. This is the Jewish view, although there may be some others who'd agree. I'm not advocating abortion when a woman's a slut as a form of birth control.

I think that Rick Santorum is refreshing.

Many people complain about RINO’s, moderates, Country Club Republicans, free shrimpers, or whatever you want to call them. But many of the same people who are critical of the more liberal elements within the Party are also highly critical of Santorum when he runs as a conservative. Sigh...

One criticism many lay at Santorum’s feet is that he lost his Senate election by 18 points. One of the reasons that happened (not the only reason, granted, but one of the big ones) is that he ran as a conservative in a non-conservative election cycle. A lot of politicians were running to the middle to get re-elected. Sure, he had an issue or two that can be pointed to that were not as conservative; but primarily he ran to the right of George Bush during an election in which the general populace thought that George Bush was too conservative. He did it even though he knew that it could cost him his Senate seat. That’s refreshing to me.

You might not like Rick Santorum, but he has the courage of his convictions. We need more like him, in good times and in bad.

Why doesn't any other R address the moral/social issues as clearly as Santorum? Chicken or don't care?

He’d go further with, “ Return America to a Constitutional Republic that respects the law as it’s written and work with Congress to appoint outside counsel to investigate and prosecute, to the furthest extent of the law, any and all violations of the Constitution by the current administration.”

Imagine the career he could have had if had had not stabbed conservatives in the back by supporting Arlen “Scottish Law” Specter against Pat Toomey.

Santorum spent all his political capital supporting an enemy of these United States. He needs to just go away.

He should just promise the voters pie. At least he could deliver pie.

In the meantime, he could brush up on the constitution and apologize for greatly exaggerating the power of the executive branch on the campaign trail.
