Jenny Sanford, ex-wife of disgraced former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, steps into the GOP presidential primary fray with an op-ed Thursday praising Herman Cain.
Ms. Sanford says she hopes Mr. Cain will keep fighting for his far-reaching tax overhaul plan even as he fends off what she calls personal allegations enflamed by the media. “I know this story well,” she writes in The (Columbia) State newspaper. “A ‘fresh face’ appears on the political scene and puts forth new proposals that challenge the status quo and then is attacked viciously on his proposals and then his character.”
That sounds like an indirect reference to Mark Sanford, whose affair with an Argentinean woman left his political career in ruins. Ms. Sanford had managed his successful congressional and gubernatorial campaigns , in which he ran as an outsider pushing term limits and tax reform.
Last year, Ms. Sanford’s endorsement helped Nikki Haley win the South Carolina gubernatorial race, and now her endorsement has been highly sought in the S.C. presidential primary – one of the first in the nation.

Great news for Cain!
After seeing both Jenny and Mark Sanford after their problems - I realized she was the smart and capable one in that relationship.
This one’s gotta hurt whomever it was that started this whole Herman Cain “harassment” non-story.
