I never pass-up an opportunity to post something from Rudyard Kipling.
For what it’s worth, LJ, I started it. I took issue with Craig’s criticizing America, while he sits comfortably outside the US.
I have little patience with ex-pats who bad mouth this country (and Americans) when they’re sitting outside the war zone. I say, stand on the same ground as the rest of us, and face what we’re facing, or be called a coward for spouting off about the country you abandoned.
I grew up reading the Mowgli books. I love Kipling.
I went up the thread a bit and read at least several of your exchanges.
Enough is enough!
grr
Did you not hear me say that I started it? Sheeesh....
The US civilian population owns somewhere on the order of 250 million guns, according to an NRA estimate. There are also more trained military combat veterans in the civilian population than currently in the military.
A link to what?
Does the phrase “When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,...” sound familiar?
That incident, but looks as though someone posted a link right above, I'll have to check it out. I'm trying to educate some Owserpukes on another site.
Oh. You mean the protester burning down the building. I heard it on the news on 850KOA out of Denver Yesterday.
Does the phrase When youre wounded and left on Afghanistans plains,... sound familiar?
...And the women come out to cut up what remains.
Absolutely rings a bell. How about this one

There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
Sorry. I did not see that you were at fault.
Absolutely predicted the 20th Century in all its glory ... from the vantage point of 1919.
...
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
Yes. I extremely sober. You aren’t though.
I am so sick and tired of all of you sitting on your fat butts whining waiting for someone from the outside to do the job you are too spineless and chicken to do.
Ah yes!!!! I have the answer:
I am sure illegal Mexicans will do the jobs the U.S. citizens don’t want to do. You can start with the Zetas...and go on from there.
I'm just not having a good day. Probably shouldn't post when I'm in a rotten mood.
Peace, friend.
There you go!
If the owners were there, somebody would have died or gotten severely injured, whether by fire or gunfire!
Such incident(s) could be a trigger.
My many thanks for your comments. From your few words, I also learned more.
Sometimes one needs to just get away from the increasingly hellish news. A couple of times I took a break from FR for a few months. Things are speeding up so fast that I can’t stop for that long now.
I apologize for harsh words.
Many of us are on edge, seeing the storm clouds on the horizon, the flashes of lightning, hearing the low rumble of distant thunder, and feeling occasional large cold drops on our faces.
