Major Gen. Peter Fuller, a top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, was relieved of his duties Friday after comments he made to POLITICO disparaging Afghan President Hamid Karzai and calling the governments leaders isolated from reality.
Gen. John Allen, commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, ousted Fuller following what the coalition called his inappropriate public comments.
These unfortunate comments are neither indicative of our current solid relationship with the government of Afghanistan, its leadership, or our joint commitment to prevail here in Afghanistan, Allen said in a statement.
The Afghan people are an honorable people, and comments such as these will not keep us from accomplishing our most critical and shared mission bringing about a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan, he added.
Fuller was the deputy commander of the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan and responsible for training Afghan security forces.
In a Thursday interview with POLITICO, Fuller, a two-star general, slammed Karzais recent remark that Afghanistan would side with Pakistan in a war against the U.S., blasting the presidents comments as erratic, and adding, Why dont you just poke me in the eye with a needle! Youve got to be kidding me.
Im sorry, we just gave you $11.6 billion and now youre telling me, I dont really care?

Oh for God’s sake!
Are we trying to win this War or what? Or is this just an exercise in Political correctness. Leave our Generals alone!
I will email this general my whole hearted support!
Karzai should have been put in his place by Obozo!
Just nuke the entire Muslim world.
The TRUTH!?!
General Allen can’t handle the TRUTH!
The TRUTH!?!
General Allen can’t handle the TRUTH!
Afghanistan will always be a backwards living 7th Century Islamic sh**hole. I say we let them all rot.
OH but it’s OK for Karsai to tell everyone that he would back Pakistan OVER the U.S.
Bring the troops home. Let the Islamofascist slaughter each other.
Ding ding ding!! What do we have for him, Johnny?
Hoo-boy, talk about isolated from reality....
Amen to that!
Telling the truth in today’s U.S. military is a career-ending move.
Read some history books on General Patton who the media at the time vilified him over his remarks too.
The government should ban interviews with these muck-raking publications like Rolling Stone and Politico. They hate the military and want to injure it. Meenwhile Obama orders them to give free access to these “journolists”. The huge cost in training and in human knowledge and experience whenever they topple a General is mindblowing. McCrystal should have told them to stop doing this crap. But Obama cannot be dissed, in any way, shape or form. Off with their heads!! He cries. And so it goes.
A vacation for two with Gen. McChrystal?

What do we have to show for ten years, hundreds of billions, and the priceless lives of our warriors.Poppy production is up and aided by U.S. advisors, distribution controlled as a political-military tool.
Ahmed Wali Karzai accused of being a CIA tool and a druglord and defended by plagiarist putz Posner--then murdered to clean up the mess.
Petraeus shifted to DCI as Panetta is SecDef.
Gays in the military but truthtellers beware.
When the "nation" you saved from the (Pakistan-created) Taliban makes a statement of treachery such as the article references, you're on the wrong trail.
Meanwhile in Iraq the mystery man Hussein announces all U.S. troops out by end of year.
A gift for Iran.
Who is shocked.

I believe Gen. Fuller wants to be done serving this administration and purposely wanted these comments to end his career.
General, I salute you, Sir. Enjoy your retirement.
THe latest revolt in the military. Glad to see that this time it was an Army general. The Marines have been far out front on challenging Obama’s destructive policies. The Navy has been the most gutless.
Air Force leader are still up in the air over whether to oppose Obie except for their statement the other day about losing in the future.
