CNN) - Joel Bennett, the attorney for one the women who has accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment, said Friday that his client "made a complaint in good faith about a series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances" from the GOP presidential candidate.
Bennett said his client sees "no value" in revisiting the issue now, but "stands by the complaint that she made."
Bennett said his client would disagree with Cain's characterization of the alleged harassment incidents.
He confirmed that the alleged harassment occurred in 1999 over a period of "at least a month or two." There was "more than one incident," he said.

Because they believed they could count on these people, yes. She and her attorney are the ones who gave every impression they were interested in going public. Her attorney even went so far to discuss this and suggest he'd ask the NRA to release them of their confidentiality agreement.

I knew that. It’s time we called them to account.
She doesn’t want it revisited as it was probbably something stupid (Cain maybe looked at her crosseyed)and she was compensated for it to the tune of $5-figures.
This would be an embarrasment to her and everyone else involved in this “non story.”
All that was AFTER the Politico story. There was no interest before that.
Indeed, since the woman won’t come forward and still stands behind her allegations, this disproves the “she’s a gold-digger” trash-talking as well.
I still don’t get how one report quoted the lawyer saying this woman had to go live with her relatives because the media was staking out her home. Either he lied or somehow the media knows who she is but not one of them feels like leaking it.
This whole thing has been such a stupid joke.
Or that 20+-year-old woman now has a career twelve years later and sees no reason to revisit the issue and have her name associated with any of this.
I don't believe she came forward on her own.
I believe her name was leaked and Politico is trying to force her hand. If - and I say if - there actually was an incident, she may have no desire to become a household name, or to have a gaggle of reporters outside her house, or have her kids know about this.
As a Cain supporter, I'm amazing at the thigh muscles that Freepers have developed in the last couple of days:
If Cain did something, I'm going to be very angry at him. He cost me a lot of emotional capital as well as donations. And I won't have a candidate in the field to support.
But in our own way, we on the forum are acting without facts as recklessly as any journalist. We just happen to be smearing women whose names we don't know, rather than a known political candidate.
Or she's waiting for the democrats to increase "the value" of revisiting it.
The media DOES know who she is. He said that in the presser and praised them for not revealing her identity.
President Cain has been vindicated by them not coming forward.
Maybe the Obama team is paying her to keep quiet so he can use it in the general.
Maybe she is 350 lbs (she really looooves the restaurant business)
Maybe she looks slightly better than Helen Thomas.
Maybe she is black.
Maybe the complaint says that Cain compared her height to his wife’s and it made her feel uncomfortable.
Maybe Cain was out of town on the dates of the accused harassment.
Maybe she has filed hundreds of sexual harassment cases and will be outed immediately as a shakedown artist.
Maybe the bidding hasn’t put her and her lawyer into the 1% for life yet.
The press will never release the names or pics of the accusers or the documents because then they will no longer be able to call him Herman Cain, the accused sexual harasser for the next nine years...
It could also be a timing issue. Let Cain win the Primary and then try to take him down.
Being an insider playing the game (he’s treated Romney with softer kid gloves than has any other candidate up there) doesn’t mean he hasn’t been charitable and friendly to people like you.
Also doesn’t mean you shouldn’t support him.
The amount of venom spewed at this woman is Carville-quality, that’s for sure.

I happen to KNOW Herman personally, and have known him for years....I have had lunch with him— “ALONE!!!!”
The man is not even flirtatious...he is friendly, and very likable, but not the least bit flirty...
He is a GREAT man— so maybe you have a beef with others who only have Politidump for info....
I feel perfectly justified as a friend of Herman’s to be able to defend him...
I agree with you that I don’t think she came forward, I think others swooped in to use her for their own ruthless intentions....but I stand by my wisen up remark....making an accusation against the boss is one thing....dealing with the politics of this election is another...unless there is something truly horrible in her complaint, she would be giving ALL harrassment charges a black eye, if she decided to break an agreement in order to allow political rats to use it as fodder....
I’d say she has wisened up in the last few days....she was saying that she wanted to speak out...now, not so much...at least according to her attorney...
She could simply say she didn’t feel it was necessary to bring herself forward and disrupt her life when Cain wasn’t even the Republican nominee.
A lot of people aren’t even paying attention right now. Don’t know how many people would believe her but who knows.
When has she not "shut up"? She has not said a word since this thing broke, there is no indication that the original leak came from her, and it does not seem like she is interested in becoming involved with this political BS. I don't understand why people are angry with this woman.
UGH!! I don’t like Romney either!!! I scolded Herman about that about 2 years ago...one of those things he and I don’t agree on....
