Herman Cain Has a Powerful Enemy in Iowa[Hard-Core Evangelical Christian Host]

The harassment scandal highlights Cain's rift with Iowa's most dangerous conservative talker.

Herman Cain has messed with the wrong Iowan.

One strand of the multifaceted scandal unfolding around the Republican presidential candidate this week has been the charge that Cain treated female staffers of Des Moines-based radio host Steve Deace in a manner Deace found "awkward and inappropriate."

While Deace has refused to describe the interaction that prompted that characterization, he has also spent the week relentlessly pounding Cain on his nightly talk show -- and taking to task the conservatives who, at least at first, largely defended the former Godfather's Pizza CEO.

Deace says his major objections to Cain predated the scandal and are based on matters of substance. But there's no question that, for whatever reason, Cain has become the top target of Deace's fierce -- some would say demagogic -- ire.

And that could be a big problem for Cain. Because Deace isn't just any radio talker -- he can plausibly claim to be one of the most influential right-wing figures in the Hawkeye State. Four years ago, he played an instrumental role in Mitt Romney's loss, and Mike Huckabee's win, in the Iowa caucuses.

Now, Deace has his sights trained on Cain.

Deace is being paid by Cain opponents. That explains it.

That could well be. It would be interesting to see what contributions he’s made, both Dem & Repub. There are those on FR who know those sites. I don’t.

If you are a big enough dumb-ass you eventually get to be called Powerful and Massive.

He's arrived.

Deace used to have the afternoon show on WHO radio in Des Moines, after Rush Limbaugh. He now has a syndicated show and much smaller audience.

If Deace isn’t for Cain, then who is he for?

Befitting his talents, I'm sure. And a reason for injecting himself into this for sure.

Cain said, ‘Darling, do you mind doctoring my tea for me?’

Cain is southern...common courtesy in pretty much unknown in northern climes; so it stands to reason that it was taken 'the wrong way.'

Well ... I guess if the choice is between being stark raving mad and a whore ... I suppose its better that he's the latter ... Maybe... Less of an excuse for him, but at least he can hope for a recovery.

His weapons may not work as effectively against Cain.

None of his weapons will work. We've already claimed Isaiah 54:17 for Herman Cain:

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, …

And Mr. Cain was a great CEO who encouraged the best from his underlings. That is how he pulled failing companies out of the red and put them firmly in the black. He’s great with people.

Herman Cain has a high moral code and is a faithful and loving husband. If some dame came on to him and he ignored her she just might be infuriated enough to try to make big trouble for him.

Having read his book “This is Herman Cain”, and seen most of his speeches, I cannot imagine Mr. Cain being anything but a gentleman. He needs to come up with a a humorous retort to further questions regarding this matter.

To donate to his campaign please send your generous checks to:

Cain made a comment to a woman who was there to report on the radio interview for another news agency.

“Cain said, ‘Darling, do you mind doctoring my tea for me?’”

Why would Cain ask a reporter there to cover the interview to fix his tea for him?

I think Deace really stepped in it.
You don't make allegations like that with squishy information.

Now, for the third time, I will copy my last post to you:

---------------------------------------------------------

From my last post to you on a different thread, recopying it here because I really have nothing further to add.

If I’d read your posting history prior to asking the question, I can assure you I wouldn’t have asked you. That’s my mistake, and I apologize that you’re now so riled up because of it. You’re clearly more emotionally invested, and your posts tend to a much more vitriolic style, than I normally engage.

Breathe.

----------------------------------------------------------

I've been very polite with you, Rita. But now I don't know how else to put this to you, other than very plainly and simply:

*Please stop pinging me*

No hard feelings, Rita. I'm just not interested in being a participant in this style of "discussion". I hope that's clear enough.
