During an interview with CNN's John King on Thursday, the Texas governor said that expectations that U.S. authorities are going to arrest and deport up to 15 million undocumented immigrants isn't realistic.

With the economy the way it is today, why would u support illegals getting jobs, that Americans WILL DO.
If the economy was booming, u might get away it.
But jobless Americans will do many of the jobs illegals are doing now.
Perry is finished.
The Texas governor also claimed his chief rival for the Republican presidential nomination, Mitt Romney, had once supported amnesty. Romney has drawn criticism for hiring a lawn care company that employed illegal immigrants at his family's property in a Boston suburb for a decade but has also said amnesty is not appropriate for illegal immigrants.
"You can put a program into place in which these individuals can be identified, and work visas in which they can move back and forth between their countries but not to become United States citizens," Perry said. "And I think that's where McCain, that's where Romney, that's where even Bush went wrong when they talked about the issue that, 'we're going to give amnesty to these individuals,' and people just said, 'no, we're not.'".....Source
Americans will do lots of jobs illegals currently do if we quit paying them to sit on their butts doing nothing.
Good, I am sooooooooooooooooo glad it is so obvious to you vigilante man. Do you have to be snotty about it? How about some more coffee?
Ouch, did the truth step on your toes just a little bit there, Bud? Having a little problem seeing how a guest worker program works? Too stupid to know that migrant farmworkers have been picking your crops and keeping your food prices down for more than 50 years?
We’re not stupid in Texas, Bud. When something needs to be done we find a real solution. Too bad most of the country, especially in your blue states, allow Marxist democrats to make your decisions for you, thus you never get a solution, just more problems.
Listen to what Sarah Palin says...
We have a mini construction boom going on around us here in San Diego. Lots of virtual new homes built on the skeltons of 50’s homes sitting on valuable lots. Unfortunately, I can count very few non-Hispanic’s working on them. I know they aren’t all illegals, but my guess would be at least 50%.
That also means that lots of them are not reporting income or paying taxes..plus taking a job from a citizen.
I will not support any candidate who in any way shape or form gives special status to those who have invaded our country. They should all be forced to go via the process from foreign soil before being granted any form of entry.
Perry will not get my vote or my money..he is talking amnesty.
I totally agree with Rick Perry’s statement there. There is nothing wrong with having an honest conversation about this. I’d like to explore serious ways to deport 16 million illegals, too... before I’m all in with the “not realistic” remark.
One good thing is that this strategy could define who is here legally and put an end to the anchor baby business.
I don’t think anyone else has the depth and breadth of knowledge and experience on the illegal problem as Perry. I wonder though, is anyone on FR ready to have an honest conversation?
H1B1 Visas are not given to illegal aliens, like Perry wants to do with the "work permits". Big difference. In one the people go through our process and come here legally. In the other the people come here breaking our laws, as criminals. Perry wants to make no distinction between them. This, in my opinion, is immoral.
Even if we interview someone who is capable of doing the job and we make an offer, they often will accept the job during the interview, then not show up for work. Sometimes they do all the paperwork of a new hire, and I give them the form to take to the clinic for a drug test, and thats the last I see of them. Its extremely frustrating, to say the least. We have more work than we can do, we offer competitive wages and benefits, and we cant get anyone to take the job. Apparently the young dudes dont need to work anymore. They are living off their girlfriends, their parents, or the government. Or all three!
It becomes pretty clear to us after this happens consistently for over a year why these guys dont accept a job. They never wanted it in the first place. They are obligated to apply for jobs to continue getting their unemployment benefits. But we sure as hell know what they dont want: WORK!?

While we are at it lets get ride of the welfare whores that keep having babies to collect the money so they don’t have to work except lay on their backs and pop out kids..
Oh Bull Hockey! If they have a guest worker permit, then they’re not illegal. And what’s more they’re not working here free, nor are they invited to stay permanently or given a fast track for citizenship. They pay for their permit, they pay taxes, they work, and they go home. If they want permanent citizenship, then they get in line like everybody else.
Just like the Texas Dream Act which NONE of you can wrap your head around. The Act does not give in-state tuition to illegals because the FIRST thing they have to do to start the program if file for citizenship and temporary resident status until they complete the requirement. Without becoming legal immigrants, NO TEXAS DREAM ACT.
The ignorance that abounds in the US proves why we’re in the mell of a hess that we’re in.
“I wonder though, is anyone on FR ready to have an honest conversation?”
Thanks for your well thought out post you get the gold star for the day..
Consider the logic here: If they get visas, they are no longer undocumented! /S
Maybe that's why Perry wants these work visas... illegals: doing the engineering Americans won't do.
I wear my gold star proudly. Thanks.
Yup. As long as it pays to sit around, the more sitting around we are gonna get.
Nope. Just can’t stand arrogant, mouthy asshats like you. By the way, mouth, I made no claim that Texans were stupid, just you.
Wrong. Entering this Country without the proper documents or in an unauthorized area is a crime, 6 months in prison for the first offense and 2 years in prison for the second, felony, offense. No matter what the person does after they commit the crime, they are still criminals. If these people are told they do not have to answer for their crimes, this is amnesty, pure and simple.
More likely pres of mexico.
It is amazing that fr has its own amnesty activist group. Laws are optional for these people, if only they get to save few cents on their salad. The real cost; murders, dwi’s, overcrowded schools and hospitals and unsustainable welfare ponzi scheme do not worry these nativists.
We can’ do it attitude. Maybe perry should adopt this as his campaign slogan.
