I cut my heavy metal teeth on GWAR! They use a lot of brass and fast, heavy riffs in their music. It’s PERFECT for pushing out that last rep on the bench or running that last 1000 ft. before dropping in the grass.
This is sad. They were quite the stage performers, as you can see by their costumes.
Believe it or not, the metal community is very much against drug use. There are obviously outliers, but in general, the idea of metal is that it gets you moving and is a replacement for drugs. Lord knows I’ve had my time of it!
And we just learned MPLS was moved to near the Canadian border...idiot reporters.
No offense, but they seem like a low grade knock off of Alice Cooper (theatrics) and Metallica (riffs). And I cut my teeth on Black Sabbath. I have seen ‘em all.

This metalhead agrees! (Yes, I listen to heavy metal while I clean the house. Nothing gets me moving better. It also helps me overcome the fear when I have to tackle the kids’ bathroom.)
The druggies seem to listen to some weird, mellow crap.
Totally believable. When I was in high school, none of us 'metal heads' used drugs, or even drank much alcohol. We typically made fun of those who did.
