You: “Texas has the second-highest poverty rate among the 50 states, behind only Mississippi..... It has the second-highest percentage of population without a high school diploma...... It is tied with Mississippi for having the biggest percentage of workers paid at or below the minimum wage.

....additionally a large steady infiltration of muslims...by invitation... from Gov. Perry.”

Texas the #1 economy in the United States.

Texas is obviously going to have the largest amount of workers paid at minimum wage since Texas has the largest number of workers.

Actually it is 10th in highest poverty rate even though it has the 2nd largest population. (This is as of Oct 2011 - you are using old statistics)

1st Mississippi (you got that one right)
2nd New Mexico
3rd DC
4th Alabama
5th Kentucky
6th Arkansas
7th Louisiana
8th S Carolina
9th W Virginia
10th Texas

But lets compare apples to oranges:

Mississippi has less than 3 million in population.
Texas has over 25 million in population - 2nd most populated state next to California.

Texas is a right to work state.

Texas has the most illegal population thanks to the Federal Government not securing our international border.

Perry will secure the border and that will change.

Regarding Education and drop out rates: Texas unlike many other states DOES NOT PASS STUDENTS WHO FAIL. In order to move up and graduate, you have to make the grades.
Texas does not move kids up by being PC. So it would be difficult to compare.

YOU: “....additionally a large steady infiltration of muslims...by invitation... from Gov. Perry.”

“by invitation”

Based on WHAT? Prove it.

To be fair, it needs to be pointed out how much less expensive it is to live in all theses states; aside from Washington, DC where there is a lot of transfer payment going to its citizens.

I believe that California still has a higher GDP than Texas. I also think that poverty rate is a percentage of that states population, so population size doesn’t matter. Correct me if I am wrong.

Muslim Population In texas.. reflect 4 yrs. ago...higher today.

- Houston has some ‘twenty-two’ Islamic centers and mosques and a Muslim population of............................ 57,000

Dallas has fifteen centers and Muslim pop......... 30,000

4,000 in FortWorth, 3,000 in Arlington........... 7,000

Austin and San Antonio each have 5,000........... 10,000

El Paso ......................................... 1,500

and there are small Muslim communities in.. Bryan-College Station,... Corpus Christi,... and Kingsville.

Among the ‘more prominent’ Islamic organizations in Texas:

-The Muslim Students Association

-The Islamic Society of North America

-The Muslim Arab Youth Association

-The Islamic Circle of North America

-The Al Quaran-Was-Sunnah Society

4 years ago...and the numbers are higher currently.

In every case, without a single exception, in countries with a strong Muslim population, it’s turned into an unmitigated disaster for the host country involved when they’ve taken measures to stop it. They’ll wrap it all in the court systems for years....meanwhile moving their agenda forward.

Perry’s invitation to muslims:

Governor Rick Perry Commemorating the [Muslim Leader] Aga Khan’s Visit (April 12, 2008)

“The Quran says: Truly those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabeans – whoever believes in God and the Last Day and is virtuous – surely their reward is with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, neither shall they grieve.” - Rick Perry

additionally.....A recent Christian Science Monitor story said,.... “Perry has attended a number of Ismaili events in Texas,..... brokered a few agreements between the state and Ismailis (including the legislation introducing Islamic curricula into Texas schools),..... and even ‘laid the first brick at the groundbreaking ceremony for an Ismaili worship center’ in Plano in 2005.”

From what I understand,.... low wages paid to illegal aliens drive parts of the Texas economy just like slavery used to drive parts of the economy in the pre-Civil War south.... The problem is that the rest of the country helps support illegals through welfare programs and the illegals don’t stay in Texas.

Texas government appears to be driven by the rich and powerful just as the U.S. government is.

The Muslim Histories and Cultures (MHC) project was formalized in 2004 in a signed agreement between the University of Texas at Austin and Aga Khan University in Pakistan. The announcement of the MHC project credited Gov. Perry by name with being “instrumental” in its launch.

additionally...Perry refused to endorse a proposal in the Texas legislature ‘to outlaw Sharia law ‘in the state.

“by invitation”....(from Rick perry to muslims) Based on WHAT? Prove it.

JUST A FEW.....INVITES as follows: Austin, Texas, 30 October 2009 —

AT THE 'INVITATION' OF TEXAS GOVERNOR RICK PERRY,....... 'Mawlana Hazar Imam' traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat. During the visit, Hazar Imam and Governor Perry also held talks at the State Capitol on a range of issues of MUTUAL INTEREST

aLSO.....30 October 2009 — Governor Rick Perry of Texas and His Highness the Aga Khan, 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, today signed a historic agreement to expand collaboration in the areas of education, health sciences, natural disaster preparedness and recovery, culture and the environment.

“Working together we can address poverty, disaster preparedness and response, the spread of disease, and access to education,”...... said Governor Perry.

Other "areas of cooperation" include culture and environment. .......... The accord is designed to promote a better understanding and appreciation of Muslim civilisations and their historic, cultural and geographic diversity through expanded collaboration with the UT Muslim Histories and Cultures Programmes.

Governor Perry explained :........ “traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom....... noting that with this new agreement, .......“we further advance OUR SHARED INTERESTS to bridge the cultural divide between East and West.”

>> Texas has the most illegal population thanks to the Federal Government not securing our international border. <<

New Mexico is right next door to you and shares a border with Mexico, it's ranked down in #29th place for number of illegal aliens (even though New Mexico's population is over 40% Hispanic)

Meanwhile, New York (#3), my home state of Illinois (#4), and Florida (#5) are ranked directly behind Texas on the top five list of largest illegal alien states in the nation. Last time I checked, none of these states is located anywhere near the Mexican border. My home state is geographically much closer to Canada than Mexico. But since I live here I can tell for you a fact that have about 20 times as many Mexicans as Canadians in my state.

Why do you think that is, if we're to believe illegal immigration is entirely the federal government's fault for not securing the border? Being nowhere near the border hasn't stopped illegal aliens from pouring into my state FAR higher numbers than their neighbor New Mexico.
