Texas Gov. Rick Perry says America should extend work visas to allow illegal immigrants to move freely between the U.S. and their home countries _ but opposes a path to citizenship.

If you see this proposal as step one in a process it is easier to understand why it is not a good thing. Politicians are all aware after their last attempt that “we the people” do NOT support amnesty- or even a path to citizenship for illegals. So those determined to help illegals now know they must get it done in increments. What seem like small concessions to illegals ALWAYS lead to bigger and bigger concessions. ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will.
We already have a LEGAL process for citizens of other countries to come here legally to work. We have a high unemployment rate among our own citizens and it has been shown that if illegals are taken out of jobs, citizens line up for the jobs. You have to ask yourself why Perry or anyone else would even propose givng illegals any sort of legitimacy to begin with.
Agree that most illegals do not enter legally. Almost none I would say enter legally. But he makes good points about them doing illegal things and running back across the border. What does Cain want to do about the border ? Though at this point I don’t trust what Cain has to say.
It’s not just the ones who are out of work. tens of millions more have had their incomes cut in order to compete with the illegals. It’s time that these unAmerican politicians like Perry hit the unemployment line.
I agree that most of the time the pols do things in increments and cannot be trusted. I don’t fully trust any of them. The problem I have is that we have millions of illegals here many working ect. What are we going to do about them short of putting them out ? are we just going to keep it like it is now ? Will the day then come when all of the millions are granted amnesty all at once ? Could what Perry is proposing be a stop gap until we can get rid of them ? I don’t know, but I don’t like the idea of them becoming citizens, period. Congress or a President could do that now and this country would be in big trouble. We have to find a way to stop it.
It is stunning I agree. The main Perrybots are as vile and underhanded as he is.
Look at them now comparing Perry’s version of a “work visa” to actual work visas which connect and immigrant employee to a specific employer and when that relationship ends so does the visa.
They lie as easily as he does in claiming that the only alternative to amnesty is mass deportation. We all know and have long advocated for the enforcement of current laws, the denial of benefits and the use of E-verify to get the invaders to self deport.
Yet some scum perrybots, right here on this very thread, claim we must want to kill illegals if we don’t want amnesty.
Scum of the Earth liberal lying perrybots don’t care about the truth. They don’t care that failure to stop the invasion means the end of that “great experiment” America.
They are idiots and yes I am stunned.
They are ILLEGAL lovers pure and simple org. The senor ricarrdo hussein perrynista ‘perryTINKLES’ supporters agree with these criminal invaders of our Nation!! They WANT it. They are no conservatives by any definition.
I thought Joe Allbaugh was hired to help Perry fix his campaign and go on the attack against other candidates, not allow Perry to dig the Grand Canyon....
I theeeenk you are correct. Rick Perry is smart but not smart enough to move away a bit from what gets him re-elected in Texas. He’s on a national stage now but is still stuck in Texas
“Turning the border into a Military zone would help too and Perry is the only one running that has said that is what he intends to do.”
Seems that I heard Cain talking about an electric fence, and also Perry laughing off the idea of just about ANY fence...
Leave it to you Perrywinkles to try and deflect the attention to someone else when your boy continues to shoot himself in the foot.
I don't understand what you're asking. Can you explain what you mean?
Many illegals came here legally originally to work but instead of returning home or renewing their status when they are supposed to they just stay and generally sneak in their family and friends who get on the dole and/or are criminals. That is why issuing any sort of legal work documents or renewing old ones that were not kept up to illegals makes no sense at all. Those that are here now illegally have already proven they will not follow the law so giving them any sort of legitimacy is foolish to say the least. The old saying about repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different result comes to mind.
Truth!
Oh just wait until tomorrow morning, when, after all the talking points are emailed, articles defending Perry get posted between 6-8am.
The Feds wont deport the undocumented workers, so Perry proposes documenting them for a start.
