A Republican source who was at the dinner in which pollster Chris Wilson says Herman Cain sexually harassed a young staffer is contradicting the account, telling CBS News he never saw Cain sexually harass anyone that night, although he does remember Cain drinking.
"I did not see a lech," the source said.
Wilson, who was doing polling for the Restaurant Association during Cain's tenure, told an Oklahoma radio station yesterday: "This all occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City [Virginia] and everybody was very aware of it. And so it is, it was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact that she left after this, that it was, it was a-everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up.
But the source said he "didn't remember (Cain) doing anything" at the dinner, which he said was at a Ruth Chris' steakhouse in Crystal City, Virginia. The source said Cain "may have been a little drunk," but he didn't see anything inappropriate--and added that he never heard anyone discuss anything inappropriate that may have occurred. He said about a half dozen people were there.

Where does the 80K figure come from?
"It is beyond insane that Herman Cain would have considered running for president if he had the tiniest skeleton in his closet. To be an out-of-the-closet black Republican, you had better be a combination rocket scientist/Baptist preacher. Which, as it happens, Cain is."
-- Ann Coulter 11-3-2011
Or at least three power trips too many: allegedly sexually harassing at least two women at work and then running for president when you’ve not the first bit of interest in foreign affairs and have never won a campaign or held political office previously.
ANONYMOUS???? Gee I thought ANONYMOUS
WOW QUANELL X IS ON TV IN HOUSTON SUPPORTING CAIN. NEW BLACK PANTHER LEADER QUANELL X.
Oh, Lurker. You know better than that!
Well just suppose some gal flirted with you but you didnt respond. She was furious and decided to ruin your chances for a big promotion in the company you both work for. So she decides to take her revenge by filing suit accusing you of a sexual harassment. You were very busy, with a tight schedule and more important problems to solve, and being a practical man, decided to settle with her rather than pursuing a counter suit. That way you dont spend your precious time on fighting false charges, and you save a bundle on attorneys fees. What would you do?
This happens in companies all over the country and these accusations are all handled the same way. Settlement is NOT an indication of guilt. Settlements save time and the cost of fighting false charages in court!
Prove to me where he said those exact words “sexual harassment settlement”
Acquaint yourself with a real man. Read “This is Herman Cain”. He answers any question you might have about him. A gaeat book! Have it added to your kindle.
Well Ann Coulter wants Romney for president.
Up until now, my money's been on Rove as the source of these tactics against Cain. But this one is so amateurish, I begin to question that assumption. Is there another candidate on the field who might want to start a rumor that someone has a drinking problem? Maybe a candidate who has, himself, been accused of being publicly intoxicated in very recent days, I wonder?
Really?
There's really two sexual harassment settlements?
Really?
You have proof of these sexual harassment settlements?
Sure, Chris, and you stepped in to put a stop to it? No, you didn't or you're lying now. Either way, it puts you in a very bad light. Tells you something about Perry in the characters he hires.
Herm was still digging today on Hannity saying “I don’t know” and “baseless” over and over. He is saying NOTHING happened and the women are liars. His problem is if ANYTHING happened then he is the liar. The journolisters have their names. Unfortunately it’s only a matter of time before more details are leaked and this gets even worse for Cain.
And when you read the original story, the one thing people of high repute/sarc like you refuse to bring up is the one he knew something about is that the accuser paid the Association’s legal fees. Explain that one, Mr. Knowitall.
Not just somewhere in Austin, but across the street from the capitol. Easy coffee break walk over to the governor's office to work out the details of his media tour with the story.
Fanny Farmer told Betty to put some ice on it.
Check her posting history. She made it up.
Did the WaPo have anything to say about a certain ‘waitress sandwich’ that occurred at a restaurant frequented by Chris Dodd and the late Ted Kennedy? Didn’t think so.
I like to give everyone the chance to identify their source.
If the number is made up, then the post is a lie.
He didn't. He's consistently said, and again today on Hannity's radio show, that it was a severance agreement.
