An interesting bit from White House reporter Tangi Quéméner's latest pool report from the G-20 in Cannes, France:
[President Obama] entered the room at 1:15 and took to his left, heading to Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy. They chatted for a few seconds before British Prime minister David Cameron joined them. Hard to understand what they were saying amid the cameras noise. POTUS then took a stroll to Australian Premier Julia Gillard who got a hug as European president Herman van Rompuy, European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan were watching. Eventually the Europeans got a handshake but Erdogan got the hug treatment.

There is a rumour that the stories about Iran are a smokescreen, and that Turkey is set to strike against Syria.
A rumour every minute in the Middle East, of course. But I mention it FWIW.

Comment added by PJ? Don't see it in the linked story.

Is Obama going to bring the “Arab Spring” to Turkey? Ergogan can be replaced by someone more like Obama’s Muslim/Marxist roots. Sic ‘em, Barry.

Ergogan and Obama are partners in forming the new caliphate, IMO.

Erdogan, excuse me. Darn touch screen keypad.

You may be right, but . . . with Zer0, he says one thing and does the other. Gaddafi thought he was friends with Barry. We saw what Barry did to Gaddafi. If I was any kind of leader, I'd trust Barry as far as I could throw the Queen Mary's anchor (and I can't even lift one of the anchor chain links).
Also, Erdogan is a Turk and they're really not too enthused about Ahmadinejad and the Iranians (Persians). I don't know if it's an ethnic thing or a Sunni vs. Shiite thing. For now it might be an alliance of convenience, but neither the Turks or Iranians trust one another, IMHO.
