Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged he had taken advantage of me.
One source, a male, told PJ Media:
Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.
Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:
Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.
The name of the woman who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.
Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time mid-1990s for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

I really don’t have a problem with how Cain is handling this. Maybe it’s just me.
Imo, this is the most significant part. So, she was fine for several days but then at some point later became distraught? What happened in those interim days to make her upset? Did she find out he wasn't playing her game or did she think it over and decide to go for the money so was putting on an act? Sorry, but taking a year's SEVERENCE pay means daddy's attorney wasn't able to present even a mediocre case.
If she’s making money then we need to find that out. If she was paid years ago to shut up and go away and then she came out first, she’s in trouble. If she is coming out now because Cain said there was nothing to this, and no money is crossing hands then she is right to come out. We just have to wait for all the facts to come out.
No, consensual sex with upper management will not always be considered sexual harassment in a court of law. To be “harassing” it has to be “unwanted.” That is part of the definition. It’s hard to prove that an encounter with a subordinate was “wanted” when that person is arguing it was “unwanted”, but that doesn’t mean it is impossible or untrue.
Oh yeah, that’s really adult, assuming the fabricated accusations are factual without any evidence and then opining on what the man should do about your perceptions of the fabrciations. Yeah, that really makes us respect your opinions.
I hope Sean lets him talk and doesn't run on and on about how he used to wash dishes and tend bar and all that.... ;)
He’s handled this so poorly that he’s disqualified himself from being the POTUS on ability alone. Politico gave him 10 days to come up with a story. If he blamed his former staffer for the leak then he’s had 7 years to come up with a story. Instead of being prepared he’s lashing out at everyone, changing his story and losing his temper at reporters.
Keep in mind he’s never served in public office and has never been vetted. This is a good light on how he would govern and quite frankly I don’t think he’s up to the task. I am not impressed at all.
It’s one thing to be a smooth talking talk speaker and radio host. It’s quite different than governing and being responsible for the safety and livelihood of the citizens. I don’t trust him to handle a real crisis at all after this.
“The telling thing here is that a forced sexual act is miles away from mere sexual harassment. So, what is the spin going to be tomorrow? It started out being he never touched her but a jesture that made her feel uncomfortable and now it’s up to a drunken night in his apartment. Spin, spin, spin.”
I think you’re confusing two seperate incidents.
Oh but it certainly is about Cain in every respect...your own statement attests to this..."about a shameless attempt to get rid of him".
This is not a surprise and the oldest trick in the book of political war...and Cain knew when he started this would come.
In the end I hope to see Newt rise up further....he'll likely take Cain with him to Washington...you can bet Newt will take them all on and have no problem handling the press...which Cain is learning, too late, the press is not his friend nor are they interested in truth...they waant a story only that will sell their tabloid listeners.
LOL! So true!
—Hes handled this so poorly that hes disqualified himself from being the POTUS on ability alone.—
Sorry, but I’m really missing that. I think he’s doing fine.
Gotcha, and makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
How should he handle it? Bill Clinton is the only politician of either party that has handled a sexual scandal well, and I'm not sure we want a candidate that uses Clinton tactics.
At this point we can probably put 2+2 together and get the probable story (or at least worst case scenario).
The third woman from yesteray is the second woman from the original story. There are only two.
(1) Cain made some remark and gesture to a woman that she found offensive. Maybe it was about her height, or maybe it was cruder, but it seems to be no more than a remark.
(2) Cain hand a single, one night stand with a subordinate. It looks like they both had too much to drink at an office outing and went home together. It seems she at least regretted or was embarassed about it in the morning. Since he was her boss, that was legally sexual harassment. She received the $35,000 settlement.
That's it. That seems to be the worst case scenario in everything we're talking about. Out of a 40 year business career, two incidents. No coercion or force, no long string of incidents.
A crude remark and a one night stand. Nothing to brag about, but is that enough to dump someone as a presidential candidate?
I had not seen your post #82, but I went back and read it.
I am very saddened that the very people we would think were concerned about real people are the ones trashing those real people.
I am upset with them all right now and am truly disappointed with so many in our party taking notoriety and personality over real living, breathing human beings, no matter how ordinary they may be.
Thank you for your insight and for your kind words which were greatly needed and much appreciated right now.
Yep... and this was the test and he's just not up to the grade required to handle it. Even those with vast experience are unfortunately at the mercy of the media...who are not interested in truth...Cain hasn't done well in presenting that as we know...nor of handling the press...he has far to go to make it thru this.
Really? What physical contact was done? Last I heard she was claiming it was a gesture or comment but no physical contact. Please, provide the link.
It's hard to have sympathy for a hypothetical entity. We need to wait for the full facts before we make judgements like that.
He did indeed, but that was before you revealed the horrible occurrence with you daughter (Prayers for her and you).
And I am outraged by his comment and his treatment of any individual who has gone through a sexual ordeal. Whether we have assault and rape or just improper advances in the work place is beyond our complete knowledge right now, but I am offended and ANGRY with the disgraceful treatment you people are showing to those... ALL of those who have to deal with this.
There is absolutely NO proof that anything even happened here yet you're convicting Cain on a story that is being revised as we speak! Yes PJM is now changing their own story!!
NEITHER of you deserve a daughter OR a wife who needs you by them, protecting them.
Stuff it, I have much sympathy for any girl or woman who is truly a victim. The problem is there are too many false accusations out there for me to automatically accept the word of an anonymous source who makes these claims. Especially when they have the political implications these charges carry.
You are not worthy of a loving family who needs love in return. You BOTH are sickening to the human race.
You reek of desperation for a logical argument. I have never seen someone get so emotional to defend a weak candidate, and that's too bad.
I actually came away with the most favorable attitude I've ever had with Perry last night on Hannity......then supporters like you com along and woosh, it's history.
As for Newt, he's got proven character issues. I'd love to see him in the new conservative government as a policy wonk (or even as press secy...lol!), but certainly not as POTUS.
And about that 'too late' for Cain stuff. We've got a full year to go.
It's not even close to being over for him....or for any of the other viable candidates (Paul and Huntsman being the UNviable candidates).
Dismissing Cain because of these anonymous smears is unwise. He has the makings of a good candidate against the evil one in the WH.
:: Cain needs to get in front of a camera ASAP ::
Funny, but this is EXACTLY what Matt lauer and Sissy Matthews were saying. That Cain wasn’t “handling” this appropriately (e.g., involving the “celebrity press”!).
I find it refreshing that Cain is avoiding the marxists shills because he knows that they will twist it to make him look bad.
