PJM Sources Report Details of Alleged Cain Incident
PJMedia ^ | November 3, 2011 | Richard Pollock

Posted on 11/03/2011 10:04:50 AM PDT by bbernard

Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged “he had taken advantage of me.”

One source, a male, told PJ Media:

Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.

Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:

Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.

The name of the woman — who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident — has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.

Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time — mid-1990s — for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

Well....obviously that isn't always the case. There are plenty of wives who know the score but stick with their husbands, and vice versa. It has always been thus. A pledge is pretty meaningless if the other party consents.

Seem to forget? Study American history. American presidents who had affairs are all over the place. If your goal is to find such a candidate, especially in the political class, you might as well abstain from politics.

BTW, I support a candidate who has a loving marriage of more than five decades and who has never been accused of having an affair: Ron Paul.

Clinton’s sex stuff probably doesn’t matter to them now.

Almost 3,000 people paid for Clinton's legacy with their lives. When Clinton was in office we said that it spoke to his character, we were right then and we are just as right today. The man sold our country and used the Presidency to line his pockets and the sexual harassment claims were the warning bells. Here we are again, but this time he is a Conservative and we want to defend him because he is ours. But it's the same warning bells. We owe it to the 3,000 we all swore we would never forget to listen to those warnings.

Is it possible that it is all made up? Sure. But we can not ignore the warning bells and use the excuse, "Clinton did it", "they never asked Obama questions". They were both wrong, the last thing we need to do is repeat those mistakes.

Rush just concluded it well. This attack is about ALL of our Republican candidates.

They are ALL superior to Obama, and Obama received no scrutiny whatsoever.

This is NOT honest reporting. It is a vile attempt to smear one of our conservative candidates, and it needs to be recognized as such.

Clinton’s affairs were legends around Arkansas. This looks like Palin type slander to me. They will try anything to being down a good person.

I’m a Gingrich supporter. I’m defending this man because the spectacle unfolding at Freerepublic is obscene. We are witnessing an innuendo lynching of a man that too many members at Freerepublic are gleefully grabbing torches and pitchforks to join. It never seems to occur to these dolts that folks not yet convinced on a candidate will not want to be associated to such ‘supporters’. And the only winner in this entire innuendo lynchmob is the Axelgreasy machine who will now exploit this foolishness to paint the GOP as deeply racist and irrational.

—This parsing of events in defense of Cain is sad. If a shred of all this gossip is true then he was fooling around.—

Remember Anita Hill. Not a shred was true. Snap out of your quick rush to judgement. Wait for some actual facts to come out. So far there are none. NONE.

I'm disappointed that, just because some have already chosen someone else, that they're going along with this smear.

I agree with you 100%

My post to MHG was in reference to a little dispute we had some days back, only MHG would get what I was saying. As it turns out, your point is the point I was making to MHG, well it goes a little deeper than that...you had to be there....

This still isn't making it on my radar. She was drunk. Getting plastered at an office function is nothing short of low life scum. None of us know what did or didn't happen inside the apartment but she didn't call the cops or get a rape test at the hospital so it's he said/she said.

Just yesterday, Chris Wilson claimed some un-named something happened several times yet he never stepped in to stop it. So, this gal had a habit of getting drunk and snuggling up to upper management? Or was it that Cain had a habit of taking drunk young things to his apartment? Where was Cain's wife during all this?

Her female coworkers apparently weren't too concerned with her getting snockered and apparently weren't too worried about her safety since they didn't step in either. If Cain was a cad, then it would have been the office gossip's duty to tell all new hires to watch themselves around him and we haven't heard that was the case at all. More and more it sounds consensual, IF anything did happen.

I'll be waiting for the lab test to come back on the pizza stained dress.

No kidding. Like Rush said...to all parties involved in this "story"...where's the reporting and subsequent outrage regarding Bamster's sealed records?

Regardless of who your candidate is...don't take your eye off Bammy's gang and their deeds.

It was a settlement, never made it to court. That means the aggrieved party agreed that the $35,000 payment satisfied her alleged damage and was made whole and agreed to close the proceedings subject to the non-disclosure agreement and other terms not known to us.

Her lawyer no doubt took her case on a contingency basis with his fee being the usual third. In this case about $11,550 leaving his client with $23,450. Not exactly the lottery.

I’ll even suggest that she snapped up the first offer and that her lawyer told her to take it because she had no substantive case that would survive a full court action. Which means Mr Slippenfall would not only not receive his one third fee, he would be out of pocket for all costs as well as his lost time which could have been pursuing other shady deals. Many of these sharpies haven’t stepped a foot in courts in years.

A typical nuisance suit.

According to the article, this woman DID file a complaint and received a $35,000 settlement.

It’s starting to look like the “third woman” that people were talking about yesterday was actully just the original 2nd woman.

It wasn't acceptable for Bill Clinton, yet it's okay for Cain because he's on our side?

You obviously omitted the fact that Bill Clinton was guilty as sin, and Cain hasn't even been accused of the filth that Clinton committed, let alone being proven guilty.

Why did you make the assumption in your post that Cain was the same as Clinton when it's not even remotely close to the truth?

Read this from your post:

Statement is presently being prepared by the woman and her attorney.

This is what has caused this woman to now step out of the shadow...Cain’s lies.

Two things:
1. preparing a statement and “stepping out of the shadow” are not the same thing
2. Anita hill stepped out of the shadow. Was it caused by Thomas’s lies?

Stop the rush to judgement. Let at least SOME facts get presented, or even some claims by non-anonymous sources. Otherwise one appears to be not all that thoughtful about the decision making process.

“I can see Cain easily turning this around by seeking forgiveness, making the Romney establishment the bad guy”

FRiend, I agree. Cain needs to get in front of a camera ASAP and admit indiscretions before any of these women go public. The MSM will tear his denials to bits trotting out TV interviews of these women.

Well Ohio, most people do recognize this is a smear attack. But your missing the whole picture...Cain isn't handling this well...rather he's feeding it as much as the press and those affiliated with keeping it alive and moving...and it's not going away as long as there's money to be made from it.

That was one strange evening, Ron. And it was not related to this irrational smear campaign, as you said.

If it ends up Cain did what Clinton did, it is obviously not acceptable. However, waiting to find out facts instead of rushing to conclusions based on here say and anonymous sources is “not making excuses” and is not “nuts and disingenuous.”
