Canada also doesn’t/didn’t have Frank or Dodd and doesn’t have Fannie and Freddie underwriting bad loans.
IIRC, mortgage interest isn’t deductible there ,either.(yet people still buy homes)

I'm no fan of illegal aliens, but if we get to do the selection, I'd be in favor of giving a green card to one illegal for every damn hippie permanently relocated to Mexico.
The hippies would be closer to their dope suppliers as well.

Of course, a lot of that is because they live under an American nuclear shield that is pretty much free-of-charge. Yes, they fight beside us in Afghanistan, etc., but nuclear weapons & their delivery systems are expensive. If Canada sat on top of Russia, China or the Middle East, I think things would be different, eh?

In fact, those dubbed indignant do not represent the 99% they pretend to. They are practically all part of the 1% of the most extreme leftist ideologues who make the NDP look like right-wing nuts. That's how it is here too. These anarchists are the same everywhere.

Why Canada’s Housing Market Didn’t Crash
http://www.cnbc.com/id/38017232
“Nobody stopped a Canadian bank from lending in the subprime market, they chose not to,” says CIBC’s Benjamin Tal. “It was not the government, it was not monetary policy; there were no regulations whatsoever regarding how much you can lend in the subprime market. Canadian bankers decided not to do so, because it was too risky.”
But the democrats claim that the problem was Bush eliminating the regulations that “protected us” (though they never seem to be able to cite a single regulation that he eliminated).
