Sorry to hit your hot button, OM, but during my youth I spent 2 happy years in the Methodist church. I’m now in my late ‘60s. On a recent visit, the sermon was by a female pastor. First, she identified herself as being gay (as if that had much bearing on the Gospel at hand). Then, she talked of getting all teary-eyed when attending a gay-pride parade. Well, I get teary-eyed, too, but not for the same reason. We lost three good family friends and two co-workers - all gay males - to AIDS. The first two deaths were at the start of the AIDS crisis. They were unbelievably horrible.
I stand by my statement.
