The store's decision will likely meet with approval from the corporate HQ: George Zimmer, founder and chairman of Men's Wearhouse, has repeatedly donated to Democratic candidates in multiple election cycles, including progressives like 2004 presidential candidate Howard Dean and Rep. Barbara Lee (Calif.).

I always figured Zimmer for a Republican. Self made multi-millionaire, capitalist, etc. Boy was I wrong about that.

Bad business move, maybe his business is in trouble already and he’s looking for free advertising...

I did not know this... I won't shop there again.

I looked further back (into Zimmer’s political donations). He’s only ever given money to two Republicans: Arlen Specter (twice; Specter was a Republican at the time, at least nominally) and Tom Campbell.

No further comment, eh?

My frothing at the mouth email, unchecked for grammer or spelling: Congratulations on revealing your Marxist agenda by supporting the vacuous, economically ignorant “Occupy” movement. You make your livings due to our relatively free economy, yet promote the proven failure of Socialism. In our open society, you are more than welcome to distribute your earned income to help assuage any “income disparities” you feel are unjust. To promote the coercion of that grossly illogical action via government expansion and force is quite another thing entirely. One magnificent aspect of American capitalism is that I am free to purchase my clothing from whomever I choose. That won't be from those such as you that foment class warfare and the Collectivist mindset.

No response is necessary or desired.

That last one would make me not want to buy from there again.

I hate that family and wish idiots in MO would stop voting for them just because of their last name.

Not that ANYONE in their family, including Mel, accomplished anything to justify the bulletproof nature of the Carnahan name, in the first place.

Unfortunately, most states have their dynasty politicians. In Ohio and California (my first and current states), it helps to be named “Brown,” even though the innumerable people with that name often are unrelated to one another.

A wacky one in Ohio also was “Celebrezze” (SELL a breez ee). That was such a hot ticket that we saw some folks running with different spellings (but the same pronunciation), like Celebreze. (I suppose it’s better than “Metzenbaum.”)
