Why would he have said, “Rominey”?Some people insert an extra syllable in certain words, e.g.,
chim-in-ney instead of chimney
ath-a-lete instead of athlete
Kath-a-leen instead of Kathleen
I don't think this is a Texas-ism, or any other kind of regionalism. It is just dumb.
