Herman Cain accused a former consultant to his unsuccessful 2004 Senate campaign, Curt Anderson, of leaking damaging information about past sexual harassment allegations against Cain.
Anderson, who is now an adviser to Rick Perry, denied the charge in an email to POLITICO's Jonathan Martin: "I’ve known Herman Cain for about 7 years. I was one of several consultants on his Senate race in 2004 and was proud to help him. I'd never heard any of these allegations until I read them in Politico, nor does anything I read in the press change my opinion that Herman is an upstanding man and a gentleman. I have great respect for Herman and his character and I would never speak ill of him, on the record or off the record. That's true today and it's not going to change."
Cain's inflammatory charge came in an interview with Forbes:
In the summer of 2003, Cain recalls briefing Anderson—his general campaign consultant at the time—that sexual harassment claims were brought against him while he was chairman of the National Restaurant Association from 1996 to 1999.
“I told my wife about this in 1999 and I’ve got nothing to hide,” Cain told me Wednesday. “When I sat down with my general campaign consultant Kurt Anderson in a private room in our campaign offices in 2003 we discussed opposition research on me. It was a typical campaign conversation. I told him that there was only one case, one set of charges, one woman while I was at the National Restaurant Association. Those charges were baseless, but I thought he needed to know about them. I don’t recall anyone else being in the room when I told him.” ...

Try this scenario on for size. You are Cain and you’ve already foreclosed the possibility of the number 2 slot with Perry. You know the opposition research has been done and Romney knows about this, and Romney would be happy to have you on the ticket. It’s only a matter of time before the sexual harassment allegations hit the news. So here is how you handle it. You know your ex-staffer Anderson hired on with the Perry campaign, so he and Perry are the perfect fall guys. Heck, Anderson may even be in on this plan. Accuse them of “leaking” the story, make Perry into the bad guy, deny the sexual harassment allegations, which are sealed with the confidentiality agreement, the story blows over, and Perry is portrayed as the foul and despicable one. Perry is thus knocked out of the race early, leaving the field wide open for a Romney/Cain ticket.

I haven't heard Cain accusing Perry, and if the only source is Politico, your not too wise if you believe it.
What fun for the democrats to watch Cain and Perry blast each other...Cain is too smart for that, and I hope Perry is also.
His little dust up with Romney at the debates made them both look like a couple of juveniles fighting on the playground...but Romney was a little more stupid by running to Anderson the so called moderator..
Cain is acting not like a presidential candidate, but as a buffoon. To get into accusing rival campaign is gutter.

Very soon it will be found out. They are diasecting this right now. Now it is found out that TWO of Perry’s folks began the story. Not looking good for Perry at all which of course I am thrilled about. The day Perry drops out of this campaign the better America will be.
Bear with me for a moment.
So here we have Herman Cain having been accused by two anonymous (to everyone but the parties involved) women and now a third claims she was sexually harassed but did not make any claims to that effect, but now all of a sudden she has hired some attorney to announce it to the world.
Next we hear that Cain is fingering a former campaign adviser from his 2004 Senate bid who was advised of this potential issue stemming back to the 90’s. BTW, this person is now connected to the Perry campaign. Then we have this Chris Wilson character associated with the Romney campaign coming forth to say he witnessed one of the anonymous encounters.
And here is my thought as to why Cain would finger someone, even if it is not provable.
Could it be he wants to make a point to see if the media starts to go after the people accused by Cain just the same as the media is going after Cain with a guilty until proven innocent mindset. Especially when his accusers have nothing in the way of evidence, then and now, with at least one having to pay the legal fees of NRA as a part of the settlement?
Remember, he is unconventional.

One thing that is truly obvious, though, is the incestuous relationship among political operatives. Loyalty by paycheck, with ideology checked at the door.
I don’t believe you can point to any “finding” that anyone connected with the Perry campaign launched anything. There were dozens of people connected with the National Restaurant Association who knew of these women and their accusations. One I know of predicted that these matters would come out to my better half weeks ago. Any left wing media type allied with the One would know to go to such people and dig for dirt and it is far more probable that that is what happened than that some rival campaign launched this rumor. Remember what happened to Ryan in the One’s Illinois senate campaign. Beating up on Governor Perry with no real basis only serves the One and his media hacks.

Attack? Are you kidding me? Lord man, it’s obvious that Cain is flailing. He’s unprepared for this attack and doesn’t have a game plan. He’s got his guy out blaming other people for “leaking” something that’s NOT A SECRET.
