That was my assumption from the beginning. When Perry faltered (was revealed to be a moron), Cain took away most of Perry’s support (including me). The only chance Perry has is to take that support back. He’s not getting it from Mitt or Paul, and the others are too small to matter.
Mitt can simply be content with his chances to win without a smear.
The dems would be wiser to wait until the general election.
