Posted on 11/02/2011 1:12:28 PM PDT by Perdogg

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

I cannot imagine the ignorance of the electorate in Texas that could elect this huckster 3 times. They deserve better.

Look at the three presidents they gave us...a sociopathic criminal, a clueless blueblood and Will Ferrell.

You think that doing this is “excellent politics?

Please explain why.

The truth always comes out sooner or later about these things and if the stories are pure BS, it will be the smearing side that loses out.

And even if it isn’t, voters have had it up to their eyeballs with sleazy politics. I predict no change in support for Cain or possibly some gains due to sympathy.

If a Republican set the scam up, he had might as well quit the race the same day.

Well, actually there’s no indication that Perry voted for Clinton.

So, you made that up about Perry?

Cain, however, DID vote for Clinton in 1992.

Are you making that up too?

You would be surprised. Where do you think the yellow-dog democrat types come from.

Well I don’t know. If Herman fades and Perry rises, do ya think he is going to get a clean bill of reputation from the media?

Forget about Perry. Imagine what Axelrod would've done with this later if not now.

I read this article, period. I have no other information on the subject, save for the information Rush read today on his radio program about the woman and her lawyer:

She got “severence pay, not a settlement.” No sexual harrassment.

Lawyer doesn’t recall the case and no longer has the file.

Bush was good enough for Reagan, so he was good enough for me.

How'd that work for you in 1992?

Sorry for the confusion; the post you initially commented on was sarcasm minus tag. Cain voted for Clinton in 92.

Both Perry and Cain were Democrats at a point in their past (as was Ronald Reagan, by the way). A vote for Clinton in 1992 is so long ago it would mean nothing.

See, they like it because it is all anonymous. If we knew who these people were, we could check to see if they had a habit of making harrassment complaints. Many times the same people pull this over and over.

So, its all secret, dontcha know.

Never to be proved, just alleged.

the Perry campaign announced the hiring of Curt Anderson on October 24. Politico contacted the Cain campaign on October 19

If he was hired on the 24th, it's extremely likely Anderson was speaking with, negotiating and or possibly revealing what a benefit he would be to the Perry campaign days or weeks prior the 24th.

Most people are not hired the same day they apply, and generally takes days or weeks before being actually hired.

Does this not make sense?

If this turns out to be substantiated, I will lose all of the respect and support I have for Herman Cain.

This is an ugly story no matter how you cut it...but if it turns out to be true I'm glad it's out there now. If it turn out that Cain is a sexual predator (and I agree that's a loaded term and a long way from being proven) then I'm glad it's out now. Because if he went on to win the nomination this would have had devestaing consequences about a month from election day.

.... There are many RINOs and leftists who want to see Cain fail right now...and they will be pouring on the steam.

We will have to decide if there’s anything to it...but right now, I believe Herman Cain and trust him and those who vouch or him. I will not buy into the attacks without a lot more evidence and smoking guns than what we have seen. Right now, it smells like what I believe it is...a smear job by scheming pols to bring down a decent man who is surprising them all with his campaign.

Not good. Bush didn’t learn the lesson of “never make stupid pledges” and Perot and his Populist dummies gave us Clinton.

Frankly, I can see no difference.

Axlerod will do it to any GOP candidate. He won’t care how true it is because the media will make it true.

That's why this is so disappointing. It could have been avoided. Additionally, I find it troubling that Cain didn't foresee how voracious the attacks to anyone running against Obama would be. I want my President to be ready for anything.

But in 1988 Algore was still somewhat sane and somewhat conservative. He was pro-gun and pro-life then IIRC.

That was required to be elected senator from Tennessee. He has never had any core beliefs, a political whore from the get-go.
