Posted on 11/02/2011 1:12:28 PM PDT by Perdogg

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

I would have been perfectly okay with Cain coming forward and saying, “when I was with NRA, some allegations were made against me. I denied those allegations and in the interest of saving $ and appeasing attorneys, settlements were made. If I have ever said or done anything in my professional career that was interpreted as sexual harassment, I’m truly sorry and I regret that my actions or words caused pain but I fail to see how this has anything to do with my ability to lead this Country out of the mess that Obama and the democrats have created.”

Don’t you know it.

They see that Romney’s support is a mile wide and an inch deep. And the others haven’t inspired much enthusiasm for long either.

But Cain seems to have emotional appeal for many conservatives. The ‘rats can envision him creating an army of fired-up supporters not unlike Obama’s in ‘08.

Cain is the one they are out to get. And only dummy Dems would believe that GOPers would run away from Cain because of some “bimbo eruption.”

Showing their ignorance of the Right once again.

Worked for him? Hmmmm, if I recall he was honorary chairmen for Gore in Texas in the Primaries at that time. In fact, there’s no indication that Perry voted for the nominee, McGovern, in 1988.

If I recall, Clinton had an interesting running mate in 1992. Global warming guy. From Tennessee. Second in line to the Presidency. Guess Cain didn’t have a problem with Gore, did he? I mean, it did say CLINTON/GORE on the ballot, didn’t it?

I kinda tend to think he didnt think it was that big of a deal.

If you're right, then he's a damn fool.

If you're wrong, then he's too naive to be President. Your damned if you do and damned if you dont.

Yeah. Presidential politics ain't bean bag.

True it can’t be proved or hasn’t been proved. But they asked him to speculate on who he thought was responsible and he answered. He gave a good reason for his suspicions as well.

I don’t have any problem with it.

That’s exactly right, anyone who shilled for Al Gore doesn’t deserve any consideration at all. I cannot imagine the ignorance of the electorate in Texas that could elect this huckster 3 times. They deserve better.

Nope this is a Romney operation. I’d bet on it but Herman won’t say so because he’s really running for the number two spot on the ticket of the only candidate in the race he says he respects. Mitt Romney.

If this turns out to be substantiated, I will lose all of the respect and support I have for Herman Cain.

I already have none for Romney.

Well, actually there’s no indication that Perry voted for Clinton. Cain, however, DID vote for Clinton in 1992.

It’s folly to think that talks didn’t go on before the formal hiring

Sure, but how far back did those talks go compared to how far back Politico learned about it? We don't know, which is why Cain had better have something other than timing. That is particularly true since Anderson was not the only one who knew.

Yeah, like what else would you say about Cain to a bunch of fellow Perrywinkles?

It’s going to take more Winkling than can be had on this earth before Perry will even equal the position of Romney (ptui on his name).

“Herman will get a check from me tomorrow.”

I figured yesterday that it’s time to circle the wagons! Made my first donation to Cain’s campaign after looking up his web site:

Well I don’t know. If Herman fades and Perry rises, do ya think he is going to get a clean bill of reputation from the media?

If you do, you must be nuts.

Perhaps Perry should do an “i am guilty” on his history rife with cronyism before it is too late.

And how about those phony gay allegations? The MSM will make them fact instead of lies. Perhaps some guys will come out, but keep their names quiet because they might fear retaliation.

That is how it works.

Look, if this is the big thing it is being made out to be, the third woman has nothing to lose by showing her name and face.

If Cain is lying, then he will not get the nomination. So far, I haven’t seen adequate info to say one way or the other.

Funny I though the nominee was a short wonky Greek guy.

I'm sure you were chomping at the bit to vote for Poppy Bush as VP in 1980 and 1984, weren't you?

I had heard about that. But in 1988 Algore was still somewhat sane and somewhat conservative. He was pro-gun and pro-life then IIRC.

Politico never gave the Cain team any facts on what they had.
Now, just what the hell were they to do? WHAT?

Have a consistent response, maybe?

Do you really believe Cain knew less about this than Politico?

Do you really think Cain was supposed to "get some facts" from Politico and then respond? Do you realize who they are? So they feed him a trap and he responds to it? Yeah, you're ready to manage a big time campaign.

And he used to work for Cain and was just one of many who knew about the sexual harassment settlement. So what?

I reiterate: There were too many people who were involved in the situation, lawyers, the accusers, the accusers friends and family, employees at the National Restaurant Association, for this not to come out.

Cain knew this and can spin it to make his rivals look bad.
Give Cain some credit for being able to play the game with this to his advantage too.

As I said, if it's real, this "anonymity" is nothing but being cutesy. Because Cain would know who it was! I smell something trumped up.
