Three years before the new health care law takes full effect, a survey of employers has found 30 percent of them are thinking about dropping coverage, in part because most employees will have an alternative -- government-subsidized insurance exchanges.
McKinsey & Company commissioned a survey of 1,329 private sector employers in February and found that three out of 10 respondents who said their companies offered employer-sponsored health insurance said they would "definitely" or "probably" drop coverage in the years following 2014, the year the Affordable Care Act takes full effect.
"The employer knows there's no reason to provide private, expensive coverage if there's free options available from the government," said John Goodman, of the conservative National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas.

What a disaster Obama has been as president!
He is less than the big Zero. He is the big deficit, the gigantic minus in terms of the dollar and plunging the US into debt.
It's what the Left has always wanted -- and this is how they decided to convince people.
We should have read the bill to find out what was in it. Piglosi lied.
that was the plan all along
your choice is to pay for an $8K (or more) plan, or pay a $3.5K fine
once everyone is paying the fine, it will go up to 8K too (or more)
Sends a shiver up your leg, doesn't it?
Stupidity is reigning supreme in Washington, DC these days.
FoxNews article about inhalers:
Senate Votes Down DeMint's Proposal to Protect Inhalers
Too many IDIOTS in the US Senate as well as in the White House and Vice President. But then these people are paid big bucks to be IDIOTS.
I hope you all enjoy your 6 month wait to see a Nurse and not a Doctor.
1. All Democrats except Nelson of Nebraska voted against it [prevent people from breathing].
2. All Republicans voted for it except for two New England RINO's -- Brown of Massachusetts and Collins of Maine.
3. Not voting were two Republicans -- Burr R-NC and McCain R-AZ.
Of course, that was the plan all along.
True. Why do supporters believe the single payer will be benevolent? All of us will find out differently when it's too late.
This was the plan all along....a single payer system completely run by the government. I believe that’s why they keep cutting medicare provider payments. It’s a way to run the doctors and hospitals out of business.
And last year or so 0bambi was railing against the health industry....
some mumbo jumbo about ...
inhalators....breathalators.....breathalizers.....or some such as he got off the teleprompter...
see the video...and this goon is our PResident.....?

why is that a disaster for obama? That’s exactly what they wanted to have happen.
I made a trip to the pharmacy recently for an elderly church member, to pick up 6 prescriptions for her, before I left her house, she handed me a five dollar bill and said, “here, this is for the copay”. I brought her scripts back to her and $2.60 in change.
Medicaide for everybody! Nobody pays! Whatta plan!
I have no idea what her prescriptions were for or what the real cost of them were but at 40¢ per, you can’t go wrong.
forcing industry and business out of providing health care benefits is JUST EXACTLY what the govt statists want...its all working out as planned...
and it will snow ball after that.........once your competition drops coverage, your company will be under economic pressure to do the same.
“I hope you all enjoy your 6 month wait to see a Nurse and not a Doctor.”
Maybe it will be worthwhile, as our employers increase our pay due to the reduced cost of coverage.
Just kidding...
It is a disaster for the American people for private industry to pay less and people and government pay more for health care.
