I was wondering about Newt, he’s had to deal with this crap. People make fun of Cain for being a political novice, but Bachmann and Sanatorium both need Hail Mary’s now, and both had a great chance for it, if they had come to Cain’s defense.

...but I guess neither had the political smarts to do so.

Cain main strength is also his greatest weakness, political novice. I like that he is not a member of the "permanent political class". However inexperience comes with risks, mainly that Cain is not vetted and we really do not know a lot about him.

Oh how I wish Sarah had decided to run she has all the positives of Cain but she was thoroughly vetted. Personally I am leaning strongly in Newts direction, he is vetted and he is reliably conservative. I have issues with Newt in that sometimes his judgment is questionable, but I do believe Newts feet can be held to the fire should he wander off the reservation from time to time.
